Amidst the chaos of the corrupted attack, no one noticed a frail elderly woman making her way slowly towards the academy grounds. Hunched over her cane, Agatha slowly climbed her way to the center of the city, grumbling all the way.
"The nerve of that man. 'I have business to deal with at the wall' he says. 'I may not be back for some time' he says. 'Go to the academy and look after it in my place' he says." Agatha stopped and waved her cane at the sky. "Doesn't say a word to me for years, only to show up out of the blue, demand something of me, and leave right after." The elderly woman sighed as she set her cane back on the ground and trudged onward. "It's your own fault for marrying him all those years ago. Your sister warned you he was trouble, but did you listen? No of course not. His magic, that delectable, nearly limitless magic, was just too good to pass up."
Agatha continued to mutter to herself as she approached the academy's main gate where a group of teachers had just finished exterminating several corrupted. Paying them no mind, she walked through the gate and right past them.
"Excuse me mam," a stern voice called out to her. "Due to the lockdown the school grounds are closed to outsiders. You'll have to go back and proceed to the nearest evacuation point."
"Cheeky little brat isn't he?" Agatha commented to no one in particular as she paid Alvion no heed. Visibly angered, Alvion crossed the distance between them in three quick strides and reached out to grab her shoulder.
"Now listen here mam. A category 1 lockdown is in progress and we must see to the protection of the children at this academy. If you take offense to that-" Before his hand could reach her, Alvion slammed to the ground on all fours. Agatha turned her head to regard him with one eye.
"Ah, you must be Alvion. I had heard rumors about you." The ground beneath Alvion fractured as he was pushed down harder by an unseen force. "I must admit, I didn't think anyone could be as pretentious of a little twerp as what the rumors said of you." Alvion surged with energy as he tried to resist the immense pressure which held him down. It grew stronger in response, shattering the stone beneath him to create a ten foot in diameter crater. "Low and behold, here is the glorious bastard himself, in the flesh! Your sense of duty is so blind that you would deny a frail, elderly woman asylum during a crisis?! Agatha's eyes burned with fury as the other teachers simply stared in awe. "Or was it not a matter of you being a remorseless cunt? Perhaps your animal instincts could sense a danger from the brittle, hobbling old woman who so desperately made her way towards safety?" Alvion was slammed further into the ground and the crater double in size. "Well? Speak up! I can't hear you boy! My hearing isn't as good as it once was you know!" From behind, Chrystaline approached, her hands clasped together and a cringing smile on her face.
"Good afternoon! You must be Master Agatha. Please forgive my husband for his rude and insensitive behavior. The headmaster had told me you would be coming, but he must have told Alvion something different." Chrystaline chuckled nervously. "The Headmaster always does get a kick out of torturing him at every opportunity." Chrystaline smiled amiably as Agatha hobbled about in a circle to get a look at who was speaking. She regarded the blonde for a moment and suddenly the pressure vanished, causing Alvion to gasp in relief.
"Well aren't you just the sweetest damn thing I've ever seen! How's a nice girl like you wind up with a stiff twat like that?" Chrystaline laughed awkwardly.
"He's much nicer than he seems at first glance, I swear." Agatha chuckled dryly as she shuffled towards Chrystal. The blonde reached out to give the elderly woman an arm to hold on to.
"Well, if you insist it must be true! I can tell with a glance there's not a bad bone in your body. Why, even your magic is as clean and pure as the clear blue sky." Agatha shook a gnarled finger at Alvion as he picked himself off the ground. "You don't deserve her boy. At least not until you learn some manners! I think I'll be keepin her in the meantime, thank you very much!"
