Mekura gave him a look as he tried to pass off the leading to her. "Absolutely not. You are going to lead and that's final." Setting her half full cup down she stretched slightly before picking it back up and taking another sip. Today had started off nicely and hand steadily declined she she had decided to babysit Ben. She should have let someone else do it. Though now that she was here, she knew she needed to see the wall. What was going on to the point Eleazar had not come back yet? Tonight maybe she would invite the twins to dinner, oh but they might want to spend time with Clover as their relationship had hit a rocky path at the moment. Maybe she could commandeer Apple for a little while. Pulling her thoughts together she closed her eyes and pushed away the electronic signals as she felt around for the signals that people gave. Recently she had been playing with this little trick she had picked up. Little lights started to pop up as she figured out exactly where everyone was. Ben in front of her the two men behind her. The young couple over in the corner. Opening her eyes again she seemed to be tracking everyone's movements a little better now, as if she could actually see.

"Tch, stingy." Ben replied with a knowing grin as he refilled his glass. He allowed himself to relax some as they waited for their food. He studied Mekura fondly as she went about her own meditations. Tapping his chin, he turned an idea over in his head for a few moments before leaning forwards.
"Mekura," he began with a warm but serious tone. "I'm going to try something. It won't last long, if it works at all, but if it does work I promise it will be a nice surprise." Ben gave her a moment to consider what he said before he leaned forwards and gently took her right hand in his left. Pressing his thumb to the back of her hand, she would begin to feel a faint humming as the back of her hand warmed. It would not be uncomfortable though perhaps a bit strange.
The warmth quickly filled her hand and began to spread slowly up her arm. Ben kept his hold on her loose so that she could feel content knowing she would be able to pull away at a moment's notice if she grew uncomfortable. Spreading beyond her shoulder, the warmth spilled out into the rest of her body, flowing out of her arm like water filling a container. The sensation would slowly spread, saturating every inch of her form until it made the slow climb up her neck and into her head.
"Right now, I am slowly sharing with you my chi. My chi, then mixes with yours and together they begin to resonate in harmony. It's a rather simple technique, used most often by healers to match their resonant energy to that of the patient, making the patients body less likely to reject the foreign influence." As the warmth slowly filled Mekura's head Ben placed his other finger on the table between them. Far more quickly, a torrent of energy flooded out from his finger tip and diffused through the matter all around them. The patrons of the diner wouldn't even notice a change.
"Of course, healing is merely one application of such resonance. It is also one of the only applications most students would ever learn due to the limited number of scenarios where such a slow and steady process would be permitted. There are, however, a number of other applications I can think of off the top of my head and if I really thought about it I could probably invent many more. At the moment, we're only interested in one of those applications." Ben's grin became more sedate as he fixed his eyes on Mekura, ready to capture her reaction in his memory.
"For as long as I remain in contact to stabilize the resonance, I can gift you with a limited insight into my perception of the energy known as chi." With his right index finger, Ben sharply struck the table and a ripple of gold spread across Mekura's vision.
Thanks to the energy behind his tap, the chi in the environment around them would become slightly agitated, like pebble dropped into a still lake. The ripples would give the surfaces they traveled through definition, spreading almost infinitely in all directions. Spreading out from the single point of contact, Mekura's vision would be filled with a shimmering world of gold, shaped by disturbances and motion of chi in every entity and surface around them.
"Probably not as good as those cameras of yours," he began a bit sheepishly. "but if nothing else it's an interesting experience."

Mekura set her cup down again and rested her hands on the table as she watched the movements of the little lights. She could tell what they were doing by sound but the little flickering lights showed her where they were going. As she was address she blinked allowing the lights to fade as they were replaced with the normal everyday technology waves again. Looking at Ben she blinked at he stated he was going to try something. Slightly skeptical she let him take her right hand in his left one and wondered what he was up to this time.
When he pressed his thumb into the back of her hand she felt the faint humming as a strange warmth started to fill her hand. It was a strange feeling she wasn't used to. A thought occurred to her that maybe he was going to try and get her drunk again but she quickly pushed that away. He had announced he was going to do this, if he was really going to get her drunk he would have simply done it. So she relaxed as the warmth spread up her arm and throughout her body. While he explained the Chi sharing she listened as she waited to see what he was trying to do.
Hearing him strike the table with his finger she blinked as gold shimmered across her vision, giving details to things around her. Very much unlike her cameras. Surprise then awe filled her face as she watched the world around her come to life. It was kind like if she had sight. Seeing it through her eyes not through a camera's.
"Camera's have their uses, but its like watching a movie that your not really apart of. There is a difference between watching and seeing. This....This is beautiful." Blinking she tried to track all of it at once to memorize the sight. Looking back at Ben she smiled. "Thank you. Ah....How bout I show you how I actually see things."
Without letting go of his hand she closed her eyes and turned the tabletop black under her left hand. Projecting the image of her usual sight onto the now black table, with her ability to manipulate light, it lit up with with streams of pixelated lights of many different colors just streaming along. With a flick of her wrist she opened a purple strand so a bubble appeared showing a several drone bots, probably the ones they had passed earlier, working in the field. Moving it to the corner of the table she opened several more with many images popping up.
The images were from everywhere. A stream of texting from one, a nannybot in another, her camera's from the gym, and many many more of every image. Unfortunately it was like watching a movie and definitely felt something was lacking with this way of seeing. She let Ben get his fill of the images before letting the images go and allowing the table to return to normal. Opening her eyes again she continued to look around at the now golden world.

Ben studied the table curiously, trying to gauge what each of the varying colored streams represented. As several of the streams shifted, translated by Mekura's mind into video feed, he whistled, impressed.
"It must have taken quite a lot of practice to be able to observe all those different sources of information at once and perceive them in a way that's useful." Striking the table again, another series of waves rippled out and reverberated through the ambient chi, assuring that the definition would not fade. He gave her a contemplative look. "How many sources can you meaningfully review at once?"

Mekura shrugged. "I have had a lot of time on my hands." Watching him strike the table this time she noted the waves rippling out. It was really amazing to watch as if the scene was actually just water underneath it all. But she knew that most of the things in the room were solid due to the sounds they gave off. As he asked how many sources she could review she gave it some thought. With the experience under her belt she knew she could review quite a lot. Unlike normal people she didn't just have two eyes to look at everything.
"Ah, depends on how energetic I am feeling or how quickly I want a headache. Why what do you have in mind?" Mekura watched him curiously waiting for his answer. He probably wouldn't have asked if he didn't want her to do something. Though it could have been curiosity that drove him to ask.

Ben rubbed his stubbly chin as he stared off into space. "Hmm, well hypothetically speaking of course, if someone were to, say: attempt to sneak into your house and make it all the way to your bedroom without being noticed, how many cameras would he have to avoid to make it there?"

Mekura watched him as he rubbed his chin. When he actually spoke she began to rub her forehead wondering what went on in his head sometimes. "Ben. I'm not telling you how many camera's I have in my home. And the moment You got close enough I would have already heard your heartbeat and probably already smell the alcohol." She was an audible angry note in her tone as she spoke up.
He was saved from her attempting to hit him as the smell of their food arrived. The woman from before grinned at them as she noted them holding hands. "Well apparently she puts up with you good enough!" Setting their foods down she eyed the liquid in their cups then looks at Ben as she also placed a glass of water in front of Mekura.
Mekura's cheeks actually tinted pink as she almost unwillingly let go of Ben's hand. Holding in a sigh as the golden world disappeared she looked at the waitress. "Thank you." The waitress smiled and continued on her way doing some rounds at tables as she did so.

Ben laughed happily as he turned to the waitress. "That she does!" He declared. "Let me say, I'm most grateful for it as well." Eyeing the food, he rubbed his hands together. "What a feast! Tell pops that he has once again outdone himself." As they began to dig into their meals, the table settled into a brief period of silence. After a short time, Ben looked up to regard Mekura for a short while before grinning.
"Well I'll be, when you're doing it even eating is one of the darn cutest things I've ever seen."

Mekura turned slightly pinker as Ben spoke up to the waitress. Deciding to ignore him she began eating. She had to say it was delicious even to her taste buds. Generally her enhanced senses caused her to eat at home. She didn't mean to be a picky eater but she could always tell if something was stale, going sour or if it was the older stuff in the freezers. So cooking her own food had been her way of avoiding it. This though was rather good and she could tell it was made with fresh ingredients.
Coming out of her thoughts she felt Ben's stare on her. Blinking she looked at him and opened her mouth to ask what he needed when he spoke first. Pointing her fork at him in embarrassment she then pointed at his food. "You-You....You just eat your own food!" With that she quickly went back to eating. She had to say that wasn't her most wittiest of responses.

Chuckling, Ben watched her as she was embarrassed for a moment longer before returning his attention to his food. He was quickly cleaning his way through his plate, listening to the other patrons of the bar for more gossip, when he felt it. At first it was a tingling at the edge of his senses, a sort of prickling feeling that made him feel anxious. Then, the pulse of energy washed over him like a wave. He stood suddenly to look out the window. On the horizon there seemed to be a pulse of prismatic energy, flowing up and out across the sky following the curve of a massive dome. It was the barrier projected with the Dark Wall as its anchor and something had just hit it.
Something big.
Ben turned to Mekura, wordlessly asking if she was ready to move.

Mekura ate her food as she ignored the chuckling Ben. Starting to finish up her food all the hair on her body started to stand on end. Dropping her hearing barriers she filtered the unnecessary information and focused on the wall. Grabbing her Napkin she dabbed at her lips and placed it on her plate as she slowly stood up so not to cause alarm in the people in the diner. Pulling out the amount to pay for the food and a good tip from her wallet she tucked it back into a hidden pocket. "You know if a woman has caught your eye that bad how about you go chase her down already?"
As if upset by his eyes catching the site of another girl, Mekura strode out of the diner with a slight angry/jealous air about her. Once they were out of the diner she dropped her pretended jealousy and moved when he did keeping right next to him.

"Now, don't be like that." Ben replied in a tone of good humor. "When you're around, it's impossible for my eyes to wander." Ben pulled out a wad of cash and dropped it on the table before snatching up the money Mekura left. Following her out, when he reached her he very conspicuously slid the money into the back of her waistband with a grin before vanishing with a flicker into high speed movement.
They were moving even faster than when they had started now, a sense of urgency in the air as the multicolored wave of energy continued to crackle as it spread along the surface of the barrier. When Ben spoke, his words were laced with energy giving them an almost honeyed quality, in order for the sound not to be distorted at such high speeds.
"The pulse is already at least sixty miles across and still moving. The barrier has never had this much trouble dispersing the energy it comes into contact with before."

Mekura heard him following her out and blinked as he put her money in her waist band. Sparing him a slight glare she put the money back in her wallet a split second before she followed after him. Urgency demanding they move even quicker. Hearing his words she thought about it.
"Don't waste your energy you may need it. Your words won't become distorted while i'm around. Maybe they found a weak spot. And if what the men said is true they have been hammering away at it for quite some time. Its possible they even created the weak spot." Her words sounded as if she had said them directly into his ear. Though a slight note of worry rung across her words.

"Right" He declared, dropping the unnecessary control. "Best get there quickly then." As they crested a mountain, Chi gathered through Ben's body. Spinning to land, his feet sunk into the solid rock as he reached his hand out for Mekura to grab onto. As soon as he had a hold on her, he twisted with a heave as she was slingshot around him at mach 70. The resulting shock wave pulverized the rock at his feet. Freeing himself from the debris with a deft twist, he spun with the force of the throw until his feet connected with another slab of solid rock. With a force of both muscle and chi he launched himself from the mountain at the same speed of his throw, using his chi as a booster.
They arced through the air at nearly 24km/s, the terrain below blurring together into insensible colors beneath them. The massive black structure that was the Dark Wall quickly appeared on the horizon and grew larger as they rapidly approached. Ben spun himself in midair, breaking his momentum as much as he could before slamming into the ground feet first. He flipped with the momentum, planting one arm down into a handspring before spinning again, translating more of his forward momentum into rotational force. Finally, when his feet touched the ground again he slid a short distance before vanishing once again in high speed movement.
They were right next to the wall now, but due to its complicated warding structure, they had to first reach one of the entryways to be able to crest it. At the speed they were moving it took only a few moments before he twisted in midair and slid to a stop once again directly in front of a massive emergency stairwell that receded into the surface of the wall. Above them the enormous structure stretched nearly a mile into the air casting the world around it into the darkness of it's shadow.
"No guards." Ben commented as he made his way for the stairwell.

Mekura nodded as he decided they needed to get there even quicker. Trusting him when he spun and held out his hand she grabbed it and let him toss her over the mountain range toward the wall. It was very interesting flying through the air. Letting her sense of touch barriers down she knew exactly a how far she was from the wall and when she needed to start slowing her momentum.
To slow her momentum she increased the sound barrier when slowed her immensely since hitting a sound barrier tended to slow one's movement if only for a moment. So instead of breaking it she simply kept increasing it until she was able to land on the ground using a somersault. Popping up she smoothed out her dress before disappearing again as she followed Ben once more.
Sliding to a stop near Ben as they found an emergency stairwell she reached out searching for the technology the wall might possess. "Where did they go?" Following him, her left hand slid through the air pushing the waves that didn't belong to the wall away.
