The pendent was about an inch into the mug when it disappeared from Stein’s hand. Stein sighed and turned to look up at Ash. Stein listened quietly as her friend lectured her about needing consent for experiments. “I have already learned something though. Despite being in a non-porous pendent and not needing to breathe, Flauros is scared of water. Caius, what type of demon is Flauros, fire?” She grinned as she thought of a way around Ash’s conditions. “Ok, then I will not experiment, I will conduct observations.” She took the pendent from Ash and turned her attention to Caius “Or if Caius gives consent it is legal. Since Flauros is under his ‘guardianship’. Caius, if you give consent I can take the pendent to my room for observation and study, which will leave you and Ash to enjoy your sandwich making alone.” She knew Caius would jump on the opportunity to be alone with Ash without the creepy-chaperone that Stein was proving to be. Stein would still be only about 50 feet away, and she had full control over more than half their suite since it was metal.

"Eh, where are you going? You didn't answer my question!" Caius called after Ash the moment he realized she was gone. He quickly pursued her over to Stein and listened to the conversation unfold.
Consent for experiments?
Yeah, that does exist, doens't it?
Caius rarely experimented on live subjects, so he never really thought about. Generally any scientific pursuits relied specifically an scientific applications of magic as well as conversion of one form of matter to another.
"Do what you want with the annoying little freak." Caius stated.
Flauros immediately began screaming bloody murder and Caius made a rude face at him, that slowly morphed into his catlike grin. "Maybe those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Eh? Eh?" Caius chuckled, and the joke enraged Flauros further.
The demon shouted several things in many different languages that were not entirely kind. Or acceptable.
Caius attention quickly turned back to Ash. "Now, I just remembered where we were, making sandwiches right?" Caius asked.
He ran over to the fridge and started pulling out all manner of absurd items. Not just normal things like condiments, deli meat, and cheese, but things such as marshmmallow fluff, chocolate syrup, and maple syrup.

Ash blinked as Caius started telling her she hadn't answered his questions. It caused her to lower her arm just enough so Stein could snatch the pendant back. Ready to take it from her she heard Caius give his consent for Flauros to be experimented on. Slightly annoyed she took a breath and let it out. He had given his consent so Ash could no longer meddle in Stein's affairs.
Looking to Caius she blinked as she watched him taunt the demon. "You know...when he gets out hes probably going to eat you." Moving to the counter she pulled out some bread and set it on the cutting board which hid her stove top from view. She actually had never used the stove. Looking at the pendant she blinked. "You know if I didn't know that was aimed at Caius I would be very insulted right now."
Soon enough Caius' attention was back on her. Watching him pull out Sandwich materials she blinked. "What are you going to make with that?" She pointed at the odd stuff out that he seemed to think was going on sandwiches.

Stein grinned “Thank you Caius, if anyone needs me or Flauros we’ll be in my mini-lab.” Stein finished as she turned and walked out of the kitchen, holding Flauros by the cord. Stein just grinned as Flauros insulted Caius, her, and Stein’s family in turn, but she didn’t reply to any of it, she was too busy making plans for scientific inquiries and experiments.
(Exit Stein until further notice. Just drag her back in when you need the demon-pendent)
