The suite room was filled with the usual noises. Chimeras playing in the living room with a large black one watching the others. A little white and black one tottered over to the couch where a girl with brown hair pulled back in a braid wear a black tank top and a pair of loose work out pants which were held up with a draw string. Leaning over the girl scooped up the tiny chimera from the floor and placing Mizu in her lap the girl grabbed the TV remote and turned on animal planet 'Too Cute' for the chimeras.
Quickly a paint splattered chimera and a brown/cream spotted one found their way in front of the TV. They had found a fascination with the TV show so before running Ash would put it on to allow them to watch it. Stretching she picked up Mizu and gently petted her before placing her on Snow's head whom had rested is head on the back of the couch. Getting up she moved to an open space to stretch while the chimeras were being entertained.

The door to one of the rooms constituent to the suite burst open and out walked Caius in his baggy, extravagant, silk garb with the addition of a hard hat.
"No, no, no! This decor won't do at all!" Caius commented staring around at the main room.
"You're really not interested in your new roommate at all?" Flauros asked.
"Eh? Why would I care, it's just some guy named Ash. Not the least bit interesting." Caius went on, continuing to go around the room. "These colors are just completely wrong!"
What was it the room needed exactly? Whoever had put this together needed some lessons in design. It took Caius several moments before he noticed the Chimeras and the woman present in the room.
Wait, why was she-
Unless she was a roommate . . . Ash was usually short for Ashley which WAS more common as a girl's name.
A grin spread across Caius' face and he was practically on top of Ash in moments. "Ah, you must be my new roommate, Ash. Pleased to meet you, my name is Caius Deramore." Caius blurted out, leaning in to Ash with a grin equal parts mischievous and lascivious. "Since we'll be living together what do you say we get off to a great start and have dinner or something together? You know, get to know each other?"
"Maybe if you slow down she'll actually understand anything you just said, motor mouth."

As the new roommate's door flew open Ash was on her feet with barriers around her and her chimeras. When only the male walked out she lowered the barriers and prepared to introduce herself except he started insulting her style sense. The soothing tones were supposed to help relax and keep her chimeras from running too rampant while they were in the room. Hearing another voice she blinked and wondered if Caius had a familiar. Receding into herself, she heard Snow growling at the their new roommate. "Snow ciúin." The large chimera quit growling but moved so he was standing near Ash.
At that moment the boy seemed to take notice of her and the chimeras. The grin across his face concerned her as she took a step back from his nearness. He topped her height by at least 3 inches which caused her to take another step back from him leaning in. Once again the second voice rang out this time from a pendant on the boys chest. Bringing her eyes back to the boys eyes she blinked and decided she didn't like his grin at all. Another step back. "Its nice to meet you. Unfortunately I need to go running so I will be declining your offer." Her voice was cool and formal as she watched him with eyes that reflected nothing but coldness.
Beside her the 6' black chimera stared at Caius as if daring him to get any closer to his handler.

"You must work hard to maintain that figure. You do a great job at it too." Caius commented, his words flowing out at lightning pace again.
"Excuse him. He's a virgin. Yet somehow the biggest manwhore in this universe." Flauros commented dryly.
"Shut up! I can make that bottle smaller you know!"
"Space is immaterial to me you pea-brained, lecherous, baboon."
"Bah! If you weren't such a pain in the ass, I'd let you free, you arrogant little jerk!"
"Small minded meatsack."
"Tactless little peeve!"
"Ah. So, pouncing on a girl like some sort of horny chimpanzee is tactful in this universe. Interesting."
"It's not like that at all! I just wanted to show my new roommate a good time! She looked lonely is all!"
"And as always, the perfect cure for loneliness is a twit fairy halfbreed violating your personal space and talking at an eye-crossingly fast pace."
Caius had no retort and instead returned his attention to Ash and her . . . companions. "Ooh! Chimeras! I've always wanted to study those!" Caius commented.
He was almost immediately leaping about, examining the large black creature from a number of angles, rapidly firing off questions about its dietary habits, sleeping schedule, reproductive cycle, as well as a bevy of other bits of personal information.
"You. Woman. You seem intelligent for your limited Three Dimensional kind. Mind talking some sense into this overexcitable bafoon before I get motion sickness?"
"Stop trying to ruin my fun! You're always going on about how much you know and knowledge being power but any time I try to find out anything you're always such a pain." Caius grumbled, stopping his leaping about and studying the chimera from a stationary position.

Ash blinked as he complimented her figure while a light blush graced her cheeks. Suddenly he was in an argument with the pendent and it seemed to be going nowhere. Looking at the door she wondered if she could disappear. Soon he was asking about her chimeras. This seemed to brighten up her eyes as she answered his questions as fast as he shot them off. "They can eat almost anything, but usually I supplement their diets with lots of protein as they are still growing. They sleep when I do and can run on minimal sleep, also their reproductive traits are fascinating..." Soon enough Ash was off on a tangent about Chimeras. If it wasn't obvious by the chimeras in the room it was very obvious now that she not only studied these creatures but also must have raised many many more than the ones she had.
Snow looked at Caius as he bounced about just waiting for him to touch him. He might bite the boys hand off if he tried. On top of Snow's head was a small quivering form. She was almost invisible as her black mane hid her white body and blended right into Snow's mane. She wasn't good with new people and this boy was very quick to move and talk. It was scaring her.
Ash was quieted from her tangent as the pendant addressed her while Caius finally stopped and stood in a stationary spot. Glancing to the top of Snow's head she decided to leave Mizu where she was so not to have Caius picking her up. Looking back at Caius she glanced at the pendant. "I'm sorry. I don't believe I caught the name of your friend..?"

"Friend?! Ha!" They both replied in mutual disgust for one another.
After a short moment of awkward silence, Caius piped in. "His name's Flauros, he's this small name little ego twit who's just sore that I trapped him in this bottle after he started making a huge mess in Ansharad." Caius stated.
"Ingrate. After I give you those magic bullets."
Caius ignored his constant companion this time. Instead his attention went back to Ash as a grin leaped back onto his face though this time he kept his distance from her. "Are you sure about dinner? There are a lot of good places to eat around here, we don't even need to call it a date." Caius stated. "Really, what's wrong? I'm nothing to be afraid of. And you're cute."
He was still vigilant of the rather ill-tempered seeming Chimera who looked like it might attack him any second now. He'd take that as it became an issue. "Come on, it'll be fun! What's the harm in it?" Caius asked.

Ash blinked as they seemed to have a mutual disgust for one another. Her gaze flipped between the pendant and Caius as Flauros started up name calling again. Noting his grin she thought he would try and advance again, though this time he didn't. Staying where she was she stared at him as he tried to get her to reconsider her answer to his invitation. He even threw a compliment at the end. "Yes. I don't go out with people who I do not know." Glancing at the tv she judged she still had at least thirty minutes before she could drag Rue and Shiro away from the TV to go running. "The chimeras also have training this afternoon so I will not be free at all today." Yeah she might be grabbing at straws and was a bit too late to realize she had said today. She hoped he wouldn't notice, but had a feeling he might pounce on it.
Snow watched Caius as he seemed to be saying put. Laying down beside Ash he curled his tail around her feet without taking his eyes off Caius. If Caius was paying attention he might notice that the bump on Snow's head was staring at him. Probably watching for any sudden movements he might make.

"Eeeeeeeeh? Didn't you hear me? Learning more about one another is the point. If you don't talk to people you don't know, how do you meet new people? It's a bit of a Catch 22, you know." Caius commented.
Ash's inclusion of "today" didn't go unnoticed. The grin on Caius' face broadened. "Great, tomorrow it is then! So do you prefer Italian or Chinese?" Caius asked. "Or I can cook a little maybe-ish. End up burning it half the time, but we can try something right?"
Well, it looked like she wasn't biting. Oh well. It was worth a shot. He plopped down in front of the TV. "If you need any work done on your room, I'm really handy with magic so I should be able to do anything you need me to." Caius stated.
"So you give up, just like that?"
"She's obviously not interested." Caius replied.
"Like that's stopped you before."
"Meh."
Well at least the TV was rather amusing.

Post by Stein on Mar 1, 2014 18:06:37 GMT -5
Stein walked into the suite covered in ash, soot, and dirt, she walked behind the couch and said “I don’t think you’ll be running today Ash.” as she walked into her room and emerged 30 seconds later in a ‘clean’ lab coat. Her black pants and purple shirt were the same as always, her hair its usual short style and her round-framed glasses perched on the end of her nose, but all he features paled in comparison to the large screw protruding from both sides of her head. She walked out of her room drinking the last of a cup of coffee and sat on the couch next to Caius. Stein turned back towards her room and said “Damu, Come.” in a command voice before turning back to face the television, which was currently examining a litter of Great Dane puppies, who were taking their first steps off the blanket.
A few moments later a small white chimera emerged from Stein’s room walking as if he was Frankenstein’s monster. His white fur was criss-crossed by black stitches and he wore an expression on his face as if he was a zombie. He walked to the couch and sat down at Caius’s feet, staring up at him. “Braaaaaains…” He said before falling over onto his side and rolling onto his back.
Stein pulled a special-made chimera treat, which had the appearance and feeling of a piece of brain, out of her pocket and handed it to Caius “You can feed him if you wish, just don’t let him chew off your fingers.” Stein said as she turned around to speak to Ash. “The track probably won’t be open for the next few days; some girl named Joey-Pyrokinetic blew it up on accident during her science-fair presentation. She was trying to make an anti-slip agent, which failed, but there’s now a volcano on campus, which has a small eruption every 3 hours.”

Ash watched as he tried to get her to go to dinner. He just didn't give up. Ready to decline again he seemed to give up as he saw her not biting at his offer. Eyeing him she moved to the space behind the couch and began stretching again. Hearing the door open she looked up to see Stein walk in covered in ashes, soot, and dirt. "Stein what do you mean I wont be running today?" Getting to her feet she started to follow after Stein, but her roommate emerged a few minutes later with clean clothes on.
It was another few minutes before Stein cared to explain what had happened to the track. Sighing at not being able to go running she headed for the training room. The chimeras would join her as their show ended. Flipping out the control panel she started searching for a combat scenario that would give her the maximum work out possible.

Caius stared down at the small, stitched Chimera before popping the small treat into its mouth, quickly and without giving opportunity for it to bite his fingers.
"Huh? Another roommate. I never got told about that." Caius said in an almost disappointed tone of voice. She wasn't even cute or pretty (overall she looked way too young) and he was no longer alone in the suite with Ash.
Well, the chimeras were there, but that was different, at least they were interesting enough to study. Plus they seemed amusing enough to mess with.
Caius yawned and and rested his face in has hand, further hiding his scars than his hair already did.
"Oh will you stop whining about not getting some tail?" Flauros groaned. "You're more of a brat than that hyperactive princ-- wait what are you doing?!"
Caius started undoing the chord around his neck. He then started spinning around the pendant like a sling.
"N-no stop that!"
Caius slung the pendant across the room over his shoulder, right into a corner, where he couldn't be heard by Caius. Flauros still frantically yelled, but Caius was out of earshot, leaving Flauros with no one to talk to.
"There we go." Caius commented. Flauros wouldn't get out of his prison and hopefully would be a bit more cooperative when he finally bothered to pick the pendant up again.
"So I'm guessing you're into science, right?" Caius asked Stein, still boredly watching the TV. The channel and show had lost his interest almost as quickly as it had gotten it.
Crossing a sandwich crossed his mind. So he got up and did that.

Snow watched Caius who must be ADD or something because as quickly as he had been riveted to the TV he was bored. His eyes tracked the lanky boy as he jumped to his feet and seemed to be heading toward the training room. So either the boy had forgotten where Ash was or he was a glutton for punishment since he could hear the scenario in full swing.
In the training room Ash was moving at full throttle. Flinging daggers at holographic foes and hiding behind trees. Movement from behind her cause the girl to spin around pinning Caius to a wall. The program quickly paused as it registered an unknown person in the training area. Ash blinked as she registered he wasn't a hologram but her new roommate. Her cheeks tinted with pink from both anger and embarrassment. "Don't you know how dangerous that could have been? I could have hurt you!" After a few moments she realized she was still pinning him to the wall and quickly pulled away.

“You probably wouldn’t have been told about me living here, I also moved in recently.” Stein said as she watched the Great Dane puppies frolic in the grass; she was in a waiting period for several experiments and had nothing better to do than to watch the chimera’s fascination with the puppy show. She turned towards Caius as he took the pendent from his neck and flung it across the room; she tracked its movement with her eyes as it flew and landed in the corner. She was already forming several hypotheses as Caius spoke up and asked her if she was ‘into’ science. She turned her attention back to him as she answered “Yes, I do have an immense interest in the sciences: biology, chemistry, genetics, political, etcetera etcetera. I’m working towards my second degree currently.”
As Caius stood up and headed towards the training room Stein stood up and retrieved the pendent from the corner. She held it by the chord as she studied it and began muttering in a different language. She turned to follow Caius through the training room, stepping around Ash and Caius as she said to herself and the pendent “First testing hypothesis: It will not be possible to drown this pendent and demon due to its pendent-form. Null hypothesis being the opposite of course, that it is possible to drown a pendent-demon in a coffee cup.” As she finished speaking she reached the kitchen and pulled a coffee cup down. She filled it with luke-warm water and set it on the counter “Beginning first test in 3, 2, 1.” She said as she lowered the pendent towards the cup of water.

"Eh?"
Before Caius new what exactly had happened, he was pinned to the wall by a surprised, then angry, then embarrassed Ash.
That cat like grin spread across his face again. "Well gee, I'm not the one who put the training simulator next to the kitchen." Caius stated before grabbing Ash's wrist.
"We should totally go make sandwiches now 'cause you totally owe me for yelling at me and toolatetrainwon'tstop."
And before he had fully finished his sentence he had dragged Ash off to the kitchen.
It was then that a large scream filled the air.
"Eh, don't mind that, Stein probably just found Flauros and-- What were we doing again?" Caius asked.
---
Meanwhile, Flauros found himself being picked up then lowered towards a Glass of water.
"Wait. Stop that. You're not going to learn anything. OHMYGODI'MHYDROPHOBIC, STOP!!"
---
"Yeah, don't mind any of that, little prick deserves it."

Ash got a bad feeling as the boy grinned like a cat. "Well I wasn't exactly thinking I was getting a roommate." As she finished speaking he grabbed her wrist and started talking again.
"Wait what?" Even as the words left her mouth she was dragged to the kitchen where Stein was starting an experiment with the pendent. Hearing Flauros scream Ash immediately looked to see what the problem was. Seeing the mug with water in it and Stein lowering the demon toward the cup, Ash was by Stein's side before Caius could even blink or realize her wrist was no longer in his grasp.
Swiping the pendant from Stein, Ash gave her a look. "Stein we have had this talk. If he is sentient then you must have him give verbal consent or sign the proper papers. And since he has not given his consent you therefore cannot start experimenting on him." Holding the pendant away from Stein she waited for the argument that was sure to come.
