Saturday night. One for people to go out on the town and socialize in many shapes and forms. District 5 and 8 were where people wanted to be but a note earlier that day had arrived on a certain pink haired Grimalkin's desk. It was an address to a certain purple haired cat's home in district one for the dinner date that night.
The purple haired woman floated around her house making sure everything was in order as she continued to check in the kitchen on the food. When she was sure her home was clean she moved back to the kitchen and checked on the lasagna again. She just didn't want to burn anything tonight. Yellow eyes landed on the plates she had pulled out as hse grabbed them and made her way to the table setting up two places with a couple of candles for lighting.
Humming happily the purple haired woman gently straightened the nice purple flowy top she had on. It was rather sedate in appearance rather than her usual revealing wear. Actually lately she had toned down her revealing wear quite a bit. She as trying to get Kye's attention without using her assets like she normally did. Checking on the lasagna again she pulled it out of the oven with some oven mits to cool. Placing some garlic bread into the oven to cook she shut the oven and set a timer. Starring at the Lasagna she hoped it had come out alright.
The recipe had been borrowed from Mekura who guaranteed her that it would be hard to mess up unless she didn't follow the instructions. Quickly she got to work on dessert. Which was going to be fried ice cream. Vanilla mocha for Kye and plain vanilla for herself. When everything was made she stuck dessert in the freezer and checked on the garlic bread. Finding it done she pulled it out and set it on the stove to cool beside the lasagna.
Pulling out salad from the fridge she dished some up on to the plates as she heard a knock at her door. Eyes widening she looked at the time. Quickly she moved putting the remaining salad back in the fridge before heading toward the door. Stopping in front of a mirror she quickly checked her appearance straightening her shirt and checking her dark wash jeans for any spots. Happy she ran a hand through her hair and approached the door. With a happy smile she opened the door to let her date in.

Kye looked down at the address on her note again, then up at the numbers on the door of the house she stood before. "Looks like this is it." She folded the paper back up and put it in her pocket, anxiously running a hand through her hair.
She was consciously attempting to dress in more formal attire for perhaps one of the only times in her life. She wore a long-sleeved white button-up dress shirt, the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, with a striped black and purple skirt reaching her knees, and black high-heels. She was even wearing contacts instead of her glasses today. She couldn't quite shake the feeling that she looked ridicules. Was this how people even dressed on occasions like this? What if she was overdressed? Did what she wear fit the way it was supposed to? It didn't make her figure look weird did it- oh god, she thought, disgusted with herself. I can't believe I'm thinking about this crap!
Giving herself an exasperated sigh, she finally walked up to the door and held her hand up to the door. She couldn't explain why, but somehow she felt hesitant...Was she sure she looked alright-AUGH SUNOVABITCH STOP THAT AND KNOCK! she scolded herself. And knock she did. Lightly. Very lightly. She herself could barely hear it and she was right there, with her extra sensitive hearing. Did she just tap it with her knuckle? The hell is wrong with me, she thought, not for the first time in the last two minutes.
She tried again, making audible sound this time. A moment later, the door opened and she was greeted with the smile of her date, and the smell of Italian. "H-Hey." she answered, then realized her speech, thought Oh no, not this again, please no, no more of that, Kye Cheshire.
Entering, she looked around the room. It was rather homey-feeling. Though she supposed that should have been a given. Not everyone locked themselves in a private lab and called it a house. "It, uh, looks really nice in here," she started. Yeah, that's what people said when they went to peoples houses, right? Right. "Smells really good too!"

Blair smiled softly as her eyes roamed over Kye. She was very neatly dressed and her glasses were missing. "Are you wearing contacts tonight?" As Kye walked in Blair shut the door and escorted her through to the Dining room. "Thank you! You look beautiful by the way." Happily she helped Kye into her chair and went into the kitchen through a swinging door. Coming back out she placed the Lasagna on the table and a loaf of garlic bread.
"Did you have any trouble finding my home?" She had been worrying that maybe Kye would get lost. It had been on her mind all day and she almost had gone to pick the Grimalkin up herself. Of course she had stopped herself saying the Kye would just think she was being bothersome. Sitting in her also set down some salad dressing for Kye to use, using her magic.

Blair guulped as Blair pointed out her contacts. Shit, did I put them in weird?! she worried. She fidgeted awkwardly (making a face that I really can only describe as *this*) as Blair commented that she looked beautiful. "You...You look...b-... beautiful, too." She let herself be led into a seat, and after Blair set the table, she answered somewhat unconvincingly, "No, not really..." In truth, even with Blairs address, Kye didn't go outside nearly often enough to navigate anyplace that wasn't in the academy easily. She had even left early so she could spend hours wandering around, trying to get a grasp of where she was supposed to go. It didn't help that she had been to stubborn to ask for directions. She, "knew exactly where she was going, damn it", as she would say. She took a bite of her lasagna, and could tell Blair put a solid effort into making it. After all, she had heard it was one of the most difficult dishes to make. "This is really good," she exclaimed.

Blair smiled as Kye stuttered. It was adorable and it made Blair only want to make her stutter more. "Thank you Kye."Dishing a healthy slice of Lasagna onto Kye's place beside the salad Blair did the same to her plate. Neatly she cut the garlic bread for Kye to grab a slice if she liked. Adding a bit of ranch to her salad she started on the leafy greens. "If you like I can send some of the left overs home with you. That way you and Saya can store the hot-pockets away for later."
Oh yes she had noticed that Kye had stocked up on those unhealthy things again. In fact Blair was seriously contemplating making Kye a lunch everyday if only to put a little meat on the grimalkin's bones. Taking a bite of her lasagna she watched Kye. Her gaze practically said she was loving her time with the grimalkin before her. In the background the gentle hum of music played in the background.

"Ah, uhm, that sounds like a good idea, thanks," Kye replied, forcing out an embarrassed smile as Blair called her out on her hot pocket supply. Damn, I thought I told Saya to hide those in the pocket dimension I made for her reading box!
She figured Blair was going to try and work her out of the habit of eating those instead of something healthy, but those microwavable pouches (that Kye electrically charged with White Hare, as she didn't even HAVE a microwave) were going to be tough to be rid of in her diet.
All that aside, however, Kye was honestly having a wonderful time with Blair this evening. Not just for her wonderful food, but primarily her company as well. They chatted about all sorts of things, from work to leisure. At one point Blair asked how the grimalkins research as coming, and having anticipated the question, Kye had already prepared a simplified description of its progress so as to make it easier to understand.
Occasionally, Kye's ears would twitch in tune with the pleasant music playing in the background. Its soothing notes calmed her nerves and in turn allowed her to feel more comfortable talking to another person who wasn't her loyal assistant.
Then, suddenly, the grimalkins ears caught the sound of something that wasn't the music in the background. Something moved, outside. She subconsciously cast her gaze towards the window in time to see a railroad pin, sharpened to an extra sharp point, smash through the glass of the window, its path aimed straight for Blair's head.
"DOWN!" Kye yelled at her while at the same time, with her feline reflexes, she flung her wrist forward and snapped her fingers, casting a bolt of electricity crashing into the spike, knocking it off-course into a vase.
Kye then jumped up from her seat, staring at the now shattered vase in bewilderment. There as a brief second of silence, "What the hel-," followed by the arrive of more swiftly thrown sharpened object's aimed for Blair, scissors, pens, pencils, nail files, branches, rocks. Immediately after that, a figure, its detail veiled by a opaque black aura, save for its vermilion red eyes, charged in from the broken window with exceptional speed. It wielded what seemed to be a pair of short-swords as it made a beeline for Blair.
The blurry figure made a passing swipe for the purple haired feline before skidding to a stop and spinning around to face her. The intruder was short in stature, with triangular animal-like ears on top its head and a rather long tail, but besides that and its red eyes, it was hard to discern much else from its appearance.

Blair grinned as her date tried to hide her embarrassment behind a smile. "How about I make you lunches? That way you can eat the hot pockets for breakfast." Blair happily finished off her salad and started on her lasagna. It was turning into a splendid evening. Maybe she could even talk Kye into another date.
Keeping the conversation calm and relaxed she chatted about simple things. Eventually she asked Kye about her work. A grin jumped to her lips as Kye gave her a planned talk about how it had been going lately. Obviously she had prepared it before hand. But Blair didn't mind. She liked how Kye lit up when talking about her work.
Blair didn't notice the rail road pin until Kye pointed it out since she had been enamored by her date. A comfortable Kye had been adorable. Though it was quickly ruined by an uninvited guest.Blair jumped out of her seat and sent herself flying backwards at a wall. Catching herself with water from the kitchen as Blair seemed to crack. Suddenly she was no longer the happy go lucky kitty she pretended to be. Her aura turned dark and slightly twisted. Waving her hands several daggers appeared out of no where on fire. Her calculating cold eyes on the darkness out her window.
"I give you 2 seconds to turn around and leave." Of course the answer was many more odd weapons thrown through the window. With a snap of her fingers the flying weapons dropped to the floor like dead weights. Suddenly a furious screech from outside sounded as a pitch black hawk dived through the window. It made a beeline for the blurry figure claws out. Memoira was highly protective of Blair and their home. Usually she was a sweetheart but this person had just attacked Blair and had attacked Blair's date.
Blair used Memoira's distraction a boosted her speed to get up and personal with her assailant. To most it would look as though she just appeared in front of the attacker but others with incredible sight or who also had speed on their side would know she had simply moved at a high blur. Raising her daggers she aimed to disarm and pin her attacker on the wall next to the window. She needed to ask questions.

Kye watched, dumbfounded, as the struggle ended as abruptly as it began. The black figure started to kick its feet to lunge for Blair a second time when Memoira swooped in from what Kye imagined to be nowhere and struck the intruders face. They let out a grunt of pain and surprise before the short swords they were holding were knocked out of their hands in one movement, and pinned against the wall next to the window with another.
"Ergh!?" Once they were forced to a stop, one could see that he figure's appearance was something of a small, feminine adolescent in shape in size, their features mostly veiled by some sort of black aura.
Kye recognized this. "Concealment magic?" she thought aloud. "It seems low rank though. It would only work in the dark." She glanced over at the swords that were knocked aside. "...I've seen those before." That's right, she remembered. Once she caught one of her students hiding them under her clothes. Along with other various sharpened utensils.
She then looked over at the objects that were thrown at Blair. These weren't weapons, or at least, they weren't designed to be. They were all sharpened, precisely, probably obsessively for the objects that took longer to reach those points.
Then Kye looked at the figure, struggling angrily within Blair's hold of them. The grimalkin recalled she had an item that possessed that sort of magic, but it vanished. At first, she thought she lost it. Then she thought Ketsui swiped it. But now...
"I'll...kill you!" they snarled, vermilion eyes flashing beneath the dark veil.

Blair ended the fight quickly with the girl pinned against the wall. Her attempts to get free were almost kind of pathetic. The child had a long way to go before she could match Blair on any terms. Cruel golden eyes locked onto the lycanis's vermilion ones. Blair wasn't acting at all like she usually did. The Blair before this girl actually looked like a killer. Normally Blair would tease a students or laugh it off. Or in Kye's case pester her until she gave in or aimed a shot at her.
"Who sent you child? Why are you attacking me in my home? And I would answer honestly as you have just ruined a wonderful date with my beautiful guest."
The black hawk settled on the back of a still upright chair as her feathers became white once more. Her intelligent gaze settled on the intruder as if daring her to try anything.

Kye was now watching Blair warily. Something wasn't right about all of this. This wasn't the Blair she knew. Those eyes that should have been warm and kind were replaced with those that were cold and cruel. Even when she tried to flatter the grimalkins appearance when she spoke to the intruder, Kye couldn't place them as her friends words anymore.
What's happening here?! she thought, her breath becoming shorter as confusion started to take hold. Suddenly, she wished she had Saya here. Even any of her guns would have sufficed. Standing behind them, Kye gauged the condition of her mana as she watched and listened to the two of them.
The shrouded intruder glared back at Blair as she spoke. "Who sent me?" she asked, her cloak dissipating as she did to reveal her identity beneath. "My father. My mother. Everyone and everything YOU took from me on that night! What makes you think for ONE SECOND I give a damn about your little get-together! You don't even have the right to give me that shit after what you've done!"
Fenrei? Kye confirmed as she saw her students face. Took from her? "What is she talking about, Blair?" she demanded.
"Don't you dare tell me you've forgotten!" Fenrei pressed, accusingly. "Eleven years ago in my own home on Yggdra, my pack, the Garmr, were in conflict with another, the Okami. We were in stalemate, keeping each other at bay, led by my father. That was until that night, I came into his room to find him dead on the floor, and his assassin, you and your goddamned bird escaping out the window! As if the grief wasn't enough, the Okami overpowered our pack the next day and enslaved us for a whole decade! My mother, worked harshly to the bone, died of starvation, and I was forced to watch everyone I knew and loved be broken down through child labor and die from exhaustion under the Okami's heel!" Tears could be seen in the lycanis girls eyes, but they remained twisted in pure rage and despair. "Don't say you don't remember..,You don't DESERVE to forget! Because of you...I lost EVERYTHING because of you!! I've waited so long...so long to send you straight to hell! I will avenge my family and my brothers and sisters of my clan!"
Kye stood, mortified by what she was hearing. Blair...assassinated the girls father? "Blair..." she started, but couldn't continue. She was lost for words. The person, the first person she managed to open up to, grow close to...was an assassin? She looked at her desperately, as if wishing it was a lie. A cruel joke. But from the sight of Fenrei's enraged sobs, she felt it. This couldn't be a joke.
And if it wasn't...what kind of person was she growing close too...sharing her discoveries with? What was the real motive behind Blair's kindness towards her?

Blair noted the wariness of Kye's posture but at the moment her anger was stronger so she ignored it. Staring at the darkness cloaked child she blinked as Fenrei was revealed as the darkness dissipated. Her anger settled back in a hum at the back of her mind. Yes she remembered this one. She had remembered the day that Fen had first come to the school. All of her flaming daggers went out as they simply pinned the little lycanis's close to the wall. Taking a step back and then another she listened quietly as Fenrei yelled at her.
Running a hand through her hair she looked at Kye and cringed inwardly at her mortified face. It wasn't like she was never going to tell Kye for she would have one day. This was not how she had wanted to tell her. And her face hurt Blair even as she saw the thoughts running over the Grimalkins face. Looking back to Fenrei she looked the vengeful child over. "Fenrei. That was my last assassination and I wasn't going to take it. But the damage the two ruling tribes were doing to the people in the middle was far worse. They scavenged everything they had to hire someone to put an end to the fight. Two power hungry tribes were destroying the people they should have been protecting. So I took the job and killed one of the heads. I didn't know your father had a child or I would never have picked him. Unfortunately that was my mistake. Your father hid you well, so well that even I did not know you were alive."
With a wave of her hand the daggers vanished and a bag with all of Fenreis weird weapons were at her feet. "Leave and try again later. You have lost the surprise today. Your skills lack in all areas. Continue to train and maybe you will be able to take me on. Or you can quit and go back to your clan child."
Almost unwillingly she turned to Kye hiding the hurt behind a cold exterior for now. "This wasn't exactly how I wanted you to find out. I was going to tell you, but its not exactly something you put in everyday conversation. And it would have been much too soon. All of the kindness and love I have shown you was real. None was a lie. Would you like me to wa--.....How bout I just go to the kitchen and package up some lasagna to take back to Saya." Grabbing the Lasagna and garlic bread she turned to the kitchen and vanished behind the swinging door. Allowing Kye to flee if she wanted. Slowly she began portioning out lasagna into Tupperware.

"I won't accept an excuse like that! Not after what I had to go through!" Fenrei snapped as Blair told the rest of the story. Looking up at Blair in disbelief as her weapons were returned to her, the wolf girl asked, "What're you doing?"
After Blair had dismissed her, Fen stared daggers at the back of her head for several moments, grimacing in fury. She seemed to take being spared as an insult, and appeared to contemplate attacking Blair again while her back was turned. Instead, however, she knelt down, picked up the bag of her throwing weapons with one hand, and in a burst of blurring speed, she dashed over to pick up her swords with the other hand before blurring back out the window, escaping into the night.
Kye stood silently, taking in all of this a little less than gracefully. Her shock and inner turmoil was written all over her face. She wasn't able to even focus on a single emotion to help herself gauge what she felt about all of this. Dismay? Fear? Anger? Betrayal?
She couldn't help but flinch when she was met with Blair's cold expression when she turned back to her. Nor could she manage a reply to her words. It wasn't that Kye could argue with her supposed reasoning for never mentioning it before, but at the same time there were too many other potential reasons crossing her mind, all of them horrible.
At that moment, Kye didn't know what to believe, or what to think, and as one whose mind was amoung her greatest assets, being in this state at this time was starting to break her. Once Blair was on the other side of the kitchen door, Kye turned and quickly exited out the front door, managing to finally, but quietly, utter the words, "I'm sorry."
Once out the door, she broke out into a sprint, as fast as she could go, which was significantly hindered as she was now wearing high heels. This was only made worse by the fact that as she had gotten lost on the way to Blair's house, she now was lost in trying to find her way back to the school.
And so she ran, aimlessly through unfamiliar streets until her heels slipped beneath her and sent her falling forward onto the pavement, where she caught herself by the knees and elbows before she could injure her face. Only then as she sat there, feeling sick to her stomach, did she notice the tears falling from her eyes.

Blair simply ignored Fen as a dismissive gesture as she had addressed Kye. She had seen the grimalkin flinch and it hurt. She felt her heart was cracking slowly and painfully. Moving around her kitchen she made a point of cleaning everything up avoiding the dining room for as long as possible. When the kitchen was clean and leftover put away only then did she stare at the door to her dining room.
Taking a breath she pushed the door open and stared into her disaster of a dining room. Golden eyes traveling over the broken candles shattered plates and glass she found herself blinking back tears. "Ah, Memoira could you see to it that Kye makes it home safely please." Watching Memoira turn back to black and race out the window she snapped her fingers as a new window replaced the old.
Sitting down on a chair she looked at her hands as was surprised to find them trembling. Soon enough the tears started to fall.
