DING DING DING The hall bell rang through the school as the sounds of chairs scraping across the floor could be heard. Students chatted excitedly as they exited their classes with high hopes for the semester. Gym students walked quickly from the lockers and broke away into their little groups for their next classes. Several of the more lazy students moved slowly not happy with what was to come the rest of the semester.
A tall platinum blonde moved around the gym in blue sweatpants short-sleeved shirt and a dark blue jacket around her waist picking up balls and placing them in the appropriate sides of the gym. Today was just a simple day with allowing students to become familiar with her rules for Gym and her way of doing things. Mekura looked around as if making sure her gym was in running order before running her hand through the air pulling up the hologram board on the wall with her rules. Stretching she braided her hair back into a neater braid while she grabbed her fallen hat and placed it on her head again once more hiding the pale blue eyes that scared many people. Walking over to a bench she grabbed her clipboard and switched out the class roster for the next class roster. Running her hand through the air again the tall woman began making notes of who all was in her class. Ash, Erebus, Alex, Soleth... Backing up a few names she rubbed her head and decided this was probably going to be the class she had to watch closest. Bridgit was bound to come out when Alex started to get tired or bored.
Tilting her hat just a bit more over her eyes she heard the first students making their way toward the gym doors. Everyone had five more minutes to get to their new classes before the tardy bell rang, but Mekura would give them just a bit more time encase any of the new freshmen couldn't find their classes.

"You stand there with your arms crossed like a stoic and you wonder why no one come near you." "Correction- I choose to keep my distance until intervention is needed. Still I am stopping no one from being in my presence."
Soleth watched Mikura with interest; he was curious on why she perpetuated the visage of actually having what most people would consider sight. His keen eyes had deduced so by the constant twitching of her ears whenever a new sound occurred. The slight movements to reposition herself for a better listening point were another sign and if that wasn't enough there was the curious condition of her pale eyes she so eagerly hid. What Soleth had failed to fully reason was the other methods she used to see and it was for this reason that he decided to enroll in her class.
"You see Sophia, Miss Mikura must possess an ability that allows her something akin to what we call sight beyond an extreme sense of hearing. Otherwise there would be no possible way for her to read that clipboard. Now since the school's registrar won't allow me their files unless I'm solving a case and even at that it is limited, I must deduce for myself her method. If it is something I can acquire for mine own skill set it would be a valuable asset."
Sophia nodded slowly not fully understanding what Soleth's fascination for Mikura's sight was. She would have made another comment but the bell had rung and pulled Soleth from his perch and towards the middle of the large room. Others were arriving. People he recognized and some who were completely new to him. It would be an interesting class indeed he thought as the board to his left lit with information. He turned to inspect it and caught sight of Alex Kochou.
"This will be an interesting year indeed."

Mekura's ears twitched as she heard a voice from across the gym. Curious she tapped her pen against the board causing the camera in the corner of the gym to focus in on the young boy who seemed to talk to himself. It only took her a few seconds to identify him as one of her students since she had gone through all the profiles of the students on her roster. Soleth, the boy who had spirit powers and had honed his sense of deduction since he was young. Why was he in her class? Noting his attention to her body language she decided he must be studying her behavior. He was a rather curious boy. Checking off names as they walked through the door she moved to the hologram board and moved things around and checking to make sure there were no loopholes that either Alex or Bridgit could use against her. She had too many classes with them not to do this. Though what the boy said next kind of caught her off guard. Sheesh. She was over 700 years old and couldn't hide one simple thing from a child? She must be losing her touch. Maybe she would commandeer a simulator to get rid of the rust on her skills.
As the eyes of both the third years and second years were drawn to the tall figure walking through the door the tomboy just kept walking. It was sort of impossible for Alex not to stand out with all the commotion she had caused last year. Running a hand through her black hair with neon green and red streaks today, she looked around and spotted the Soleth boy. Great she was in a class with mr. detective. Scanning the others she spotted several second years giving her a wide girth afraid that her alternate personality would come out. "Stupid idiots." Mumbling the words under her breath she found a spot at the edge of the gather class and stayed there. The only the ones to get close to her were the first years who knew nothing of her disorder. Crossing her arms over her black shirt with the words Bite Me in red bloody looking letters. Her cargo pants had a few chains hanging from her left hip to her right knee and her right hip to her left knee causing an X to form on the backside of her pants. To all around her she seemed to be the most anti-social from her clothes to her dark green eyes staring unamused at the board as she watched Mekura go through the rules once again. A small smirk jumped to her lips as she started to pull apart the rules in her head looking for loopholes that she might use to her benefit.
Ash stood at the door as she debated why she took the class. Her chocolate brown eyes scanned the room as she let out a slow breath. It would be bad to skip class on the first day. Pulling at the seam at the bottom of her scarlet shirt she stepped forward dropping her hands to her side and standing up straight in a rather formal way. Before she could get very far something small and fluffy rolled into her legs. Stilling she looked behind her and spotted Shiro who had tripped over his own paws again. Spinning she crouched down quietly and scolded the young chimera though it seemed to go in one ear and out the other as he looked about curiously. The white paint splattered chimera pup gave a small yip and stood on his hind legs licking her nose. Sighing the young girl melted under the reassurance of the pup. "Fine get the others before poor Mizu has a come a part."
Shiro chuckled as he raced back out the door and spoke to the others. Ash stood up as Shiro came bounding back in followed by the cream colored and brown spotted Rue. Another moment a black pup with small snowflakes gracing his fur walked in carrying the youngest black and white pup by the scruff to keep from loosing her. Walking up to Ash he set Mizu down before Ash who simply scooped her up and held Mizu in her arms. "Everyone is to behave and if Ms. Nezumi has a problem with you being here its back to the room with all of you." All the Chimeras nodded their heads and followed behind Ash as she found a spot behind all the rest of the students. Ash stood quietly looking over the board as she rubbed Mizu's head for both Mizu's and her own comfort. Neither of them liked being in large crowds.

'This will be an optimum chance to get a feel for their limitations.'
Soleth smiled and looked towards an uninhabited corner of the room. He spoke softly, inaudible to most, capturing the attention of no good students or even his partner Sophia. "Professor, I'm rather positive you will be the only one able to hear my voice. I'd enjoy the opportunity to assess the abilities of my fellow students and as I'm sure you also would, I propose a small test for them." Soleth tapped thin air Sophia on the shoulder to capture her attention. "Sophia, would you please enter our world and toy with Miss Alex over there, the other students too if you would like." Sophia nodded and entered the living world, causing an electromagnetic field to occur around her body. "Now Professor, I've been working on my ventriloquism. I do hope you enjoy the show."
Soleth was confident that Mikura would have heard him, but the result would be the same even if she hadn't. Her approval wasn't his goal, it was the extent of her hearing that interested him. Sophia floated over to the chimeras and picked up Shiro. She carried him through the air and placed him against Alex's crossed arms. "Hey good looking, we don't we got out and I'll show you my wild side." Soleth forced his voice to should cute and falsely deep as he threw it onto the chimera. Sophia then placed Shiro on top of Alex's colorful hair. "All you first years better back off! I claim this woman for my wife and I'll beat up anyone who says otherwise!" Sophia released Shiro and moved into the crowd, she took one of the first year's wrist and raised it into the air. Soleth then spoke for the boy. "I challenge you little puppy-bear thing!" Sophia pointed the kids finger at Shiro "For the heart of her fair maiden! Make us a circle of combat!" Sophia spread the confused boy's arms out. Soleth took a seat down on the floor and passed into the spirit world.
He walked over to Shiro and picked him up from Alex's head, launching the chimera into battle with the first year. Soleth forced Shiro to punch lightly as Sophia forced the small first year to block and try to counter. Shiro flew down and flying uppercuted the boy's jaw while Sophia forced him to fall backwards. Shiro floated above the body triumphantly as Sophia and Soleth switched positions and Soleth returned to his body. "I have defeated the non-believer! I shall now claim my woman in the most ancient of ways!" Sophia flew Shrio over to Alex and planted his nose on hers. Sophia then placed Shrio back onto Alex's head. "Sealed with a kiss this woman is mine forever!"
Sophia returned back to the spirit world exhausted from moving so much. Her electromagnetic field vanished and she floated back to Soleth's side as he stood up from his spot and walked over to Mikura. "Did you enjoy the show?"

Mekura blinked as she was addressed from the other side of the gym. Soleth again. Very childish wasn't he for acting so mature. Finishing up with her last additions to the rules she moved to the wall and leaned back against it as if to observe the little test he was about to begin. Though before anything happened she glimpsed a body in her Electromagnetic field. Standing up she tapped a finger on her clipboard as she pulled the image closer able to identify a girl of sorts. Noting her beeline toward Ash and Alex she realized this must be Sophia who Soleth was talking to. A spirit. First time she had actually been able to glimpse one. Opening up the camera's views she watched the entire thing clearly amazed over the boys abilities as she noted he himself now entered the spirit world with the field around him.
Ash's eyes widened in horror as he little puppy was scooped up and taken away to play in a little skit. Placing Mizu on the floor she went racing after Shiro only to be blocked by a wall of snickering students. Absolutely distressed she moved around the barrier of students attempting to find a way in with out actually having to hurt any of them. Rue watched as Shiro seemed to proclaim his love for the tall young boy. Unhappy with this turn of events the small pup raced forward and dodged around peoples feet till she was near the tall boy with colorful hair. Barking she attempted to express her dislike over everything that was going on.
Alex stared as this little play seemed to be centered around her. Looking across the faces she noted one boy sitting in the farthest corner as if he were asleep. Not particularly happy over this little game Soleth was playing, she watched the flying little chimera and a girl looking rather distraught on the edges. As the play came to a close she picked up the paint splattered little guy and noted his excitement at having been about to get a role in all of this. Rubbing his head she picking up the one barking at her feet and moved through the crowd handing them both back to the plain brown haired girl. "I believe these belong to you. If you have anything to say speak to that boy." Even as she spoke to the girl she pointed out Soleth. Moving back to her spot she glared at the other students causing them to take a step back.
Ash stood still as she was approached. Taking her Chimera's back she nodded her head and thanked her quietly. Quickly she moved back to the other two Chimera's as she seemed to withdraw inside herself. Her body becoming cold and distant. She wasn't a person for large crowds but she needed the activity and credits and everything that just happened made her want to disappear into a hole. Rue huffed indignantly unamused by what had happened. Though Ash couldn't blame her the little ruffian liked Shiro and everything that had just happened was bound to make her jealous.
Mekura tapped her pen against her clipboard shutting off her connection to all of the cameras except one as the play came to an end and the woman disappeared from her vision. Shifting her eyes to Soleth as he spoke to her she shook her head. "Very childish but funny nonetheless. Don't do again. And if Sophia can understand me she shouldn't let you do it either." Moving to gain the students attention she simply took away the sound their voices made causing them all to go quiet. They had heard that Mekura could control sound though they hadn't thought to that magnitude. "Welcome to Gym Class. I'm Mekura Nezumi, either call me Mekura or Ms. Nezumi. Today I'll will be telling you my rules and if you don't follow them you don't play games. If necessary a trip to the disciplinary building can be arranged. Upperclassmen I want you all to behave and treat the underclassmen with respect if not my punishment is not to be taken lightly." Quickly she followed up her introduction with reciting the rules carefully making sure each and everyone of them had the consequences laid out if anyone misbehaved. When she finished she seemed to meet each of their eyes. "If you have questions come up and ask me. If not head to the locker rooms and get changed for a game of Dodgeball." With that she shut off the hologram board and set her clipboard on the seat before answering some questions while Ash and Alex both headed off to the girls locker room.

Soleth allowed a false frown to appear on his face as Alex ratted him out, but few of the students seemed to actually take real notice of Soleth. He nodded as Mikura scolded him for his actions."I consent to your terms Professor as does Sophia, with apologies if I might add. Could you see her during the performance?" Soleth faded into the crowd as Mikura explained the rules, trying to take note of the children's reactions to her rule set.
Soleth walked slowly into the locker room in the middle of the pack. He stood taller then the students of the class but it was a better vantage point. He quickly changed and returned to the gym. "Sophia, remember that this is just a game. I don't have to win." Sophia was floating around Mikura as she prepared the balls (I'm guessing she would do this) "Soleth, you know how I like to win in sports!" Soleth chuckled as he approached Mikura and Sophia, wondering if Mikura felt a chill as some people did. "Alright then, you play." Sophia shook her head, "I'd need better clothing, I wouldn't fit into that." Soleth sighed and sat down. "Professor, I require your assistance. Might we convene after class and discuss the matter of our future engagement further?" Soleth didn't wait for an answer before continuing "As this is a private matter, I'd very much desire to meet with you on the roof after class. But for now, your students have arrived for their play."
Soleth walked off towards Ash as she entered from the locker room. "Excuse me, beast tamer. I'd enjoy a word." Soleth stopped in front of Ash. "I am Soleth Holmes, and I was the cause of your morning's horror. It was a rude ruse and for that, I and my associates apologize." Sophia floated behind Soleth, causing the air to become colder. "If you want, I would enjoy a match of dodge ball against you and your chimera. Do they speak yet?" Soleth lead Ash towards one of the smaller courts that had been set up.

Alex noted the frown on his face and smirked. She had no problem ratting him out if he felt like playing tricks on her. After quickly changing into loose sweatpants and a plain black shirt she returned to the court where the dodge ball game would be played. Stretching she sat and waited for the others to return to the court. Ash quickly disappeared into the locker room with her chimeras as she kept an eye on the boy. She didn't want any of her chimeras up and disappearing again despite the fun that Shiro had had. Shiro bounced up and down as he recited again how much fun he had and that everyone else needed to try it out too!
Mekura made sure that the balls were evenly distributed among the two courts she was gonna use. Feeling a chill on the back of her neck she now assumed it must be Sophia. Standing straight as Soleth approached she turned to speak with him as he spoke to Sophia. Curious about what the girl said she waited until he spoke again. Arching a brow she heard him out and thought about it. "Alright. We'll set up a time to meet after class." He was gonna ask about her sight. Definitely needed to touch up her skills a bit. Allowing him to walk off she stood in the middle of the courts waiting for the rest of the students to finish piling out of the locker room.
Ash exited the locker room carrying Mizu and being followed by the other three. Before she could so much as disappear into the crowd she was quickly singled out by the cause of her earlier dismay. Looking up at him with cold eyes as he called her out her whole body seemed to try and distance itself from him as he kept speaking. As he apologized she felt the air around them get colder. "Please do not do it again." Her voice was cold just like her eyes. Unable to refuse she was lead out to the smaller court as he continued to speak. "I believe Ms. Nezumi was going to split the underclassmen and upperclassmen into evenly split teams. Otherwise she wouldn't be standing there. We are working on learning, so as of now the older ones can speak more fluently while the youngest at the moment is learning more slowly." Mizu hid in the crook of Ash's arm as the boy attempted to get Ash to speak with him.
Mekura cleared her throat as the students quieted and looked at her not wanting to lose their voices again. "I want upperclassmen on that line and new students on that line. Upperclassmen count off to four." Ash used this as an excuse to remove herself from the conversation she was having with Soleth and stand on the line she was assigned. Alex moved with the other upperclassmen to the line they were assigned and stood their before they started to count off. She was in group three....great. "Now you the new ones count off in fours." Counting off Ash ended up in group four with her chimeras. Though there was some contemplation on whether her chimeras should be able to play in the game or not. Snow just sat there as if he couldn't hear them while Mizu quietly observed from Ash's arms. Shiro and Rue rolled around her feet as they got excited for the game hoping to be allowed to play. They still had to ask for permission. "Now move to your assigned courts and I will know if you switched numbers with anyone." Even as she said it the court quickly lit up one through four.

In the rafters of the gymnasium, sitting in a blind spot of the cameras that were scattered about, Erebus appraised the students below him, preparing for class. Most of them seemed to simply be going with the flow of things. "That must be what being an actual student is like." He thought to himself with a sigh.
Being forced to attend classes like a normal student was an annoyance to him. Coming from an ancient an prestigious family, he had been tutored by masters since the time he could understand language. There was very little this school had to offer him aside from the social interaction the Headmaster claimed he needed. Because of this, Erebus couldn't help but feel like an outsider. Raised to be modest, it wasn't a feeling of superiority that alienated him. He simply couldn't come to terms with their carefree attitudes. The weight of the secrets he knew and the lives he had taken were like a wall that separated him from anyone who tried to get close.
Sighing, he leaned back into the vertical beam that extended from the one he was sitting on. Reaching into the folds of his kimono, he grabbed the book he was currently reading and settled himself in. Disturbed by the action, Yuki peaked her head out from the folds of the garment. She had been sleeping peacefully, wrapped tightly around his torso up to that point. Rubbing her head affectionately, he tried to relax her back to sleep.
"It's alright girl, there's nothing to worry about. Go back to sleep and I'll wake you after classes are finished."

Soleth wanted to take an opportunity to speak with the chimera's but Ash was to quick when her chance for retreat was opened and Soleth could only sigh as his failure. "Well I don't think she will be of any use as an informant." Sophia chuckled as she floated above Soleth. "I do prefer to gather my own information anyway." In slow stride Soleth came into line with the other upperclassmen. He was assigned number '2' and took to the court thusly. The game began and Soleth stepped backwards allowing the foolish underclassmen to rush in for the balls. It wasn't long before they were out by a girl who had enhanced speed from her prosthetic legs.
Soleth knew the girl by her plight. Her name was Veronica and she was a client of his in the previous semester. Suspecting her boyfriend was unfaithful and courting her childhood friend on the side she hired Soleth to figure the truth. His analysis was that the boy was indeed faithful but failed to inform Veronica before she decided to take matters into her own hand. In a rage she crashed her car into his and caused extensive damage to her legs which led to the prosthetics she now wore.
Soleth grabbed a ball that had bounced off one of his defeated teammates and slowly walked towards the diving line. He picked another ball into his off hand using it as a shield from the balls thrown at him. Tossing the ball from his left hand he blocked a ball heading for the boy on his right and then caught another in his left. Soleth then pegged the ball at Veronica getting her out. In a characteristic rage she slammed her ball onto the ground and stormed off. Soleth watched the ball as it flew back into the air and caught sight of a boy or maybe a girl sitting in the rafters.
Soleth tossed his remaining ball and then took a shot to purposely get himself out so that he could investigate the character above. He walked over to one of the outed members of his team, a baseball player with a powerful arm. "Excuse me Tony but might I employ your strength for a moment. I require a boost up to the rafters." Tony nodded and interlaced his fingers for Soleth to place his foot before launching him into the rafters. Soleth grabbed them and pulled himself up.
"It is a nice view from up here Erebus. Reminds me of a flat I resided in while traveling." Soleth twisted his way towards the boy with practiced ease. He took a seat a few feet from Erebus and allowed his legs to hang. "I can remember when I had the luxury of accompanying my father to your estate years ago while you were still in studies. I saw you in passing through the halls but I never received the opportunity to speak with you or at all really. Our Fathers did all the talking about a case in which they both wanted a bit more intelligence from another perspective. An information trade if you will." Sophia flew around Erebus and examined him while replying the information to Soleth. "So what drove you to attend this academy? I was certain the only time I'd ever unwillingly see one of your family was at my death in which case I did hope that I would be expensive."
Soleth smiled to bring a soft light onto his joke while a part of him feared that Erebus would simply reply "No you're a cheap job." Soleth was sure that would ruin his day.

Ash stood in her section as the game started. Setting Mizu on the floor she looked at Snow. "Take her to the side lines please and keep an eye on her." Even as she said it Shiro and Rue hid behind Ash not wanting to be left out of the game. "Alright." Snow looked at the two and shook his head. He figured those two would never be good Fighting chimeras. Grabbing Mizu by the scruff he carried her across the gym to the teach on the sidelines. Looking behind her Ash studied the two chimeras. "Object of the game don't get hit. If you get hit then you have to watch Mizu with Snow. Got it? Duck Dodge and Roll. No tripping anyone from our team." Ash was using this chance to work on their defence training. Both pups wagged their tails excitedly and raced off to join the game. Stepping forward she scooped up a dodge ball in each hand as she accessed which individuals were the most skillful in the game. Spotting Alex in group three the team they were up against she decided that girl and a boy on the same team were the ones needing to get out. Weighing the ball in her hand she tossed it with half of her usual strength and hitting the boy on the back as he turned to toss a ball.
Alex stood on her side playing the game with no enthusiasm. Catching a ball out of the air she tossed it back to the other side pegging out a rather weak looking girl. Catching another ball she barely had time to dodge a ball as it flew passed where her shoulder had just been. Looking across the court she noted the Brown hair girl from earlier aiming at her again. Well things had just gotten fun. It had been a long time since someone actually aimed at her. Returning fire she watched the girl dodge with impecible speed. She was a fast one. Two could play at that game. Shortening up the space between them with her affinity, she tossed the ball aiming for the girl's legs sending her ball over the span of space quicker before allowing the space to return to normal. Noting the girl jump she grinned and kept her eye on the girl. I wanna play too..... Please just for a little bit? I promise to be good.... Alex grimaced as she felt Bridgit start to push against the mental wall that kept her from running loose all the time. No if you wanted to play you should have sign up for gym. This is my elective. Dodging another ball she returned fire hitting the kid beside the brown eyed girl. Mekura sat on the side lines idly petting the black snowy chimera as she debated what to do with Erebus. He was supposed to be acting like a student though if he wanted to hide up there she wouldn't blame him and she could pretend she never noticed him. When Soleth disappeared from the court with the help of another student she sighed. Now she absolutely had to do something. Speaking softly she sent her voice up into the rafters so only Soleth and Erebus heard. "Both of you get down here now. Its class time not time for idling around." Standing up from her sitting position she waited for the boys to get down from the rafters.[/blockquote]

Erebus didn't look up from his book until the newcomer had finished speaking. Finally closing it, he set it down gently in his lap and rose his head to meet eyes with the new comer politely. Yuki was once again poking her head out of his kimono to see who was there.
"I can't say, I was never one for negotiating prices. Whatever my family charged the jobs all seemed more or less the same to me." Erebus wasn't one for flattery insults, or witty jibes; he simply spoke of things as they were. "As to why I'm here, it's a complicated and rather annoying situation." Erebus appraised the young man's personality in an instant. "I wouldn't suggest sticking your nose in too deeply. Some things are hidden in the shadows for a reason. I'm simply here to make sure they don't get out."
When the professor spoke, Erebus sighed heavily. He really wanted to avoid situations like this if he could help it. Glancing down at her, he cast a minor illusion over her so that his voice would be projected into her mind.
"With all due respect Miss Nezumi, I am not sitting out of your class due to sloth. Games such as this are meant to replicate combat scenarios in a way that is palatable to trainees and non-combatants. My participation would be detrimental to the experience of the rest of the students. I extend my apologies and thank you for understanding."
Having addressed all inquiries made to him, Erebus re-opened his book and continued reading.

Soleth's contumacious smile was becoming a habitual sign of his intransigent curiosity. He leaned in towards Erebus in order to better appraise the boy's abilities but was cut short by Mikura's intervention.
"Erebus, you have only succeeded in igniting my tenacious mind with an ubiquitous fire. I shall spend time in a ruminative slumber for this."
With that closing remark Soleth flipped around the bar and climbed back down to the floor. He then took to the sidelines of his game and awaited his turn to play.

Checking the progress of the games she noted that Alex was obviously after the new girl Ash. Watching she tracked the balls flying toward each girl as they battled it out on the court trying to get one or the other out while hitting other victims who were unlucky enough to end up in the path of the two girls. As Erebus responded to her and Soleth moved back to the gym she tilted her head up in the general direction of Erebus. He was very correct about the game though. Looking out to the games again she decided that they would be finished in minutes anyways.
"Then I challenge you to a game with me. Regular rules. Affinities included. Would that be a better training scenario?" Again she sent her voice up to Erebus even as the other students finished up their games. Court two and Court being the winning courts. Raising casting her voice out for all to hear she spoke up. "Alright. Courts one and Four switch. Gather the dodge balls and evenly distribute them across the courts." Tapping her finger against her leg she thought about it before opening a wavelength and lighting up another court for her and Erebus. Now everything should be okay.
Alex switched courts with team one happily. It had been a long time since someone had challenged her skills like that girl. Maybe she would have to challenge her to a mock battle to see the extent of her skills. Feeling Bridgits jealousy toward her having fun she shrugged her shoulders. Not her fault that Bridgit didn't sign up for Gym. And she was not giving up her elective!
Ash sat at the balls were gathered and even dispersed between the teams courts. Rubbing her shoulder where the winning ball had struck she knew she was gonna have a bruise later. Apparently the girl hadn't been holding back and if she was Ash didn't probably want to know the full strength of her hits. As the games began again she noted a third full court light up. Was she gonna split them up again? Curious she stood up and just dodged for now as she tried to tell what Mekura was going to do.

Erebus stopped reading as the challenge was posed to him. It certainly was not a boring idea. A faint ghost of a smile tugged at his lips as he saw the matches resume below him.
"Very well, I accept your challenge." Snapping his book shut, he replaced it in the folds of his kimono and slid off the edge of the beam. Below him, every dodge ball froze in midair as he dropped towards the ground. No more than a meter from it, his fall slowed gracefully until he landed with only a faint chime from the chains on his limbs. Ignoring the rest of the students, he walked straight down the center of the courts between the suspended dodge balls. Suddenly excited due to her master's interest, Yuki gracefully slid from his kimono and coiled through the air around him. Erebus's eyes were locked on Mekura as he walked.
"I must say professor, that even with your impressive skills and power, in such a competition with defined parameters for winning and losing, my skills are more valuable than yours." As if to emphasize his point, every dodge ball that was suspended began to hum and rotate in mid air. "If you'd like, you may call off the challenge now." Stopping before her, he made a polite bow before showing a challenging smile. "I won't think any less of you for it."

Soleth returned to his court at the end of the round. He began calculating his method of attack with an excited smile as Ash walked onto the other side of the court, he knew she be happy to see him. "Ah, it seems that we have meet here on the battle field, a shame really as I'd prefer to talk rather then fight."
Soleth began the game by grabbing a ball and deflecting most of the balls thrown in his vicinity. He was waiting for Ash to go on the offensive but he quickly noticed her attention was directed elsewhere. Following her line of sight he witnessed the makings of a great opportunity. "Sophia, take control."
Sophia entered Soleth's body and possessed it. She took the offensive, throwing balls with back spins so they would arc up towards the end of their flight. She decided to remove Ash's team mates first and slowly team three was reduced to Ash, the Chimera's and three others. "Frank, take the small boy with the glasses. Maria and Dianne, you two double team that frail girl with the braces. Tony, I want you on the jock. He's got a good arm, but I doubt he can throw as well as you can. Everyone else on the little things scurrying around the ground. Their fast but I doubt they can return a ball. You" Sophia said pointing at Ash "Are mine"
Sophia rushed up to the line with two balls in each hand. Her competitive (And slightly jealous) spirit overpowering her rationale as she disregarded Soleth's personality for her own. She tossed two balls low with a spin that would cause them to turn up and inwards on Ash.
Soleth floated through the spirit world and took a spot above the third court. He contemplated whether he should watch or intervene and try Erebus out for himself, but his head prevailed and he merely floated watching from the spirit world.
It was a few moments before Soleth realized that he could do another test while he floated. He sunk through the air and began hovering right at court side before he began passing in between the living and spirit world. Every time he entered the living world he would create an electromagnetic wave and be visible to those who could see ghost and spirits and when he entered the spirit world his signatures would vanish without the use of extra magics. He wondered if he would catch the attention of Mikura or Erebus and if they would know it was him. "Mikura will probably write me off as Sophia if she can see me, I know she must have some kind of electrical power to get her gadgets to work as she does. Or she has implants but I don't think she is that kind of woman. Erebus on the other hand... I have no clue what to expect."
((Spirits emit different frequencies and wavelengths depending on who they are, so Sophia and Soleth would appear slightly different in the electromagnetic spectrum))
