Stein watched the teaches pull the immortal student from danger
darn, is the experiment over already.Oh, well it was interesting while it -Just then the boy cried out; Stein looked up and saw that he’d been pierced through by..a shadow.
More observation of both of these boys is warranted...and maybe some experiments She saw Roy grab the boy and take off to start flying. Moments later there was a loud sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier
“Ow. what’d he do that for? He didn’t have to break the sound barrier to fly” Stein said clicking the screw twice towards the back. Damu was covering his ears with his paws and burrowing deeper into Stein’s pocket
“Why are they being so loud? “Fights can be loud sometimes, you can go find Ash. Damu what do you think Erebus’s power rating is? certainly higher than a III, he’s taking on the teachers so, i’m going to peg him at a VII” Stein looked up watching Roy fly away and wrote in her notebook
“He’s afraid of the shadows, yet flying he’s creating a shadow that follows him back and forth, still dangerous. Creating a bubble of impenetrable light would be more efficient, I wonder, can anyone here actually do that?” (side note: Roy left the area)
-----------------------
Blair jumped off the roof as Roy and Mekura both acted at the same time. She was not getting in the middle of those two. Plus there wasn't really much she could do at this point. Watching Roy leave she prepared to keep Erebus here. Looking over at Alvion she decided she wanted to know what was going on. "Can someone explain to me what is going on and why Erebus has killed this same student atleast 3 times now?!" Blair obviously hadn't seen the other seven times the student had been killed.
Mekura blinked as she realized very quickly that Erebus was no longer near them but on the roof with the boy and Blair. Before Alvion had even finished saying her name she was gone appearing next to the boy and Erebus who was obviously near him. Soon after Roy grabbed the boy and flew away. Her turn now. "Erebus lets talk! If hes done something against the school he wouldn't have been acting alone. Have you questioned him? Found out who he’s working with? Are there others like him that are in the school?" She was guessing over why Erebus was attacking the student, but why else would he be attacking the student if they hadn't meant to harm the school. She was an ex-assassin and trusted her instincts regarding why he was attacking. "I don't think he will be going anywhere so lets just talk. And you're obviously stronger than him so no matter where he might run you will probably find him." If she could get him to talk it out then let blood would have to be spilled.
------------------
Silence fell over the courtyard. When Chrystaline’s magic took hold, Erebus was left visible on the roof where the boy had been moments before. His head was lowered and his fists were clenched. There was an odd hissing in the air as every shadow in the vicinity churned and undulated ominously. Erebus’s dark energy fought against it’s bindings and the chains surged with its malevolent force.
What the teachers were saying was true of course, there was no argument. Regardless of the fact that Erebus had never let a query escape him before, or that he left no task unfinished; had he been in a better state of mind, he would have calmed down and explained the situation. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The repressed shock of having his family murdered by his own father, and then being forcibly thrown into one foreign situation after another in this strange academy, Erebus’s self control was finally at it’s limit. When he began to speak, his words were almost ethereal, as if they were being hissed from every direction.
“Howl’s signal the end of day, and the Spirit Hunter’s arrival. For those who possess a soul, there is no hope for survival.”Chrystaline’s skin began to crawl the moment Erebus started to speak. She narrowed her eyes and they took on a faint glow.
“Alvion...”
”Hide as you might, his eyes see all, and no illusion can blind them. To the ends of the earth, he’ll track you down, found, judged, condemned.”Chrystaline gasped as she saw the massive influx of magical energy culminating to the boy’s left.
“Alvion, stop him! That’s a summoning ritual!”
”Keeper of the damned, from beyond the gate he hails. His presence splits the sun, and churns up mighty gales.”A massive influx of magic to Erebus’s right began to take shape at the same time Alvion moved. The stone beneath his feet cracked as he crossed the distance between them with extreme force. His fist charged with energy was flung forward only to contact a solid sphere of darkness that had not been there a moment before. It responded to his presence with a lightning fast spear of darkness, which he just barely dodged.
”Hear the call of your master, the Reaper of Ansharad; upon these foolish mortals, unleash the wrath of god.”Alvion skidded to a halt next to Mekura as two massive stone gates rose into existence on either side of Erebus.
”Ye of the forsaken, I command you. Rise!”
There was an ear splitting crack as both gates opened simultaneously. From the gate to Erebus’s left, a noxious fog began to roll out and sweep across the ground. The gate to his right seemed to be absorbing the light from the area, as an unnatural eclipse started to take form. From the left gate, snarls and the sound or stressing chains could be heard as a form began to step out of the noxious fog. At least seven feet tall, the figure was wrapped in furs and skins, some of a distinctly human nature. In his hands were dozens of chains that whipped around wildly, connected to ethereal wolves that faded into and out of existence. On one side of his hip was a large gourd which the strange fog seem to pour out of. On the other was a woodcutter’s hand axe inscribed with ancient and powerful runes.
There was a thunderous moan from the right gate as a second form began to take shape. The massive being, standing at least twelve feet tall, was covered in a massive suit of black armor, that looked as though it had been scorched by the flames of hell. At any major joint, there was a spike with a skull speared onto it. In his right hand was a massive double sided great axe that extended for a foot longer than he was tall. In his left was a warhorn that was made from an unknown, but bloody substance.
When the two behemoths had exited their gates, they closed and vanished back into the ground. The dark sphere around Erebus parted and sunk back into the surrounding shadows. He turned to his left.
“Hunter, bring the boy to me. I don’t care whether you choose to carry his body or only his soul here. Go.” The Hunter released the chains and the dozens of ethereal wolves vanished instantly in pursuit of Roy. Following after them, the Hunter too vanished as the entire city began to fill with the noxious smog.
“Gate Keeper,” Erebus made a point of meeting eyes with every teacher present. “Do not allow them to interfere.” With a roar that shook the building on which they were standing, the gatekeeper moved surprisingly fast for his size towards Mekura and Alvion, the two closest enemies, and swung his great axe with enough force to split the building and several others in front of it in two.
------------------------------------------------------------
Mekura blinked as Erebus seemed to become angrier as his target fled. It had to make sense what she had said. Was he too blinded by his emotions to see what she was saying? Possibly. He was only a child. Suddenly words started to float in the hair around them causing her whole body to tense. Two daggers slid into her palms as Chrystaline yelled for Alvion to stop Erebus. Standing her ground she heard Alvion hit something before dodging to come skidding to a halt near her.
Blair stood below watching as two massive beings came out of a gate. Her jaw dropped as they seemed to be commanded by the boy named Erebus. For a moment fear actually crossed her mind as she stared up at the boy. He was scary. And how in the hell were they going to beat these things from the underworld??
Mekura took a breath and let it out slowly as she willed her senses to heighten almost to the maximum. Concentrating she could hear the students in the classrooms as they spoke about why the lockdown was happening. As Erebus met her eyes she blinked and readied herself. The only way they were gonna get through to him was get his anger to hopefully dissipate somehow. "Alvion you and the others distract the Gate Keeper. I'll deal with Erebus." Even as she finished the being swung its giant Axe as she attempted to shove Alvion off the building. Gone in the blink of an eye Mekura felt the buildings being torn apart by the force. Appearing next to Erebus she spoke up once again. "If you need someone to target make it me. I'm more then enough of a match for you." If she had to she would make him pissed off at her.
-------------------------------------
Roy looked back, the energy he felt coming from the Academy was terrible but great. “Boy, you must have done something very very wrong. Are you sure there isn’t anything you’ve d-” Roy felt the forces gaining speed, coming after him. The beast were smart, going in the opposite direction to gain on him faster. “Damn... Exhale boy!” Roy commanded. The boy tried to question but found his chest forcing itself towards his back as Roy pitched up and started going vertical.
Roy created a very powerful plasma shield around himself and the boy. “Don’t move. I don’t have time to stop it from burning you.” Roy pushed his speed to the max and shot off into space. It took him around seven minutes to reach his destination, the sun. He flew into its core and created a separate shield for the boy and form fitting his own so he could fight. “Here I’m most powerful. If I can’t stop them here... You are a dead man.” Absorbing the plasma from the sun he was supercharged and ready when the hounds arrived with the hunter.
The hunter approached the massive ball of fusion, the source of life for all living creatures. Staring at it emotionlessly, he and the hounds faded from sight. To achieve their master’s orders, they would wait. To them, time was nothing. Countless stars had died before their sight and this one would be no different. They waited, waited for the sun to die, or their target to flee.
Roy contacted Alvion through his rival’s mental ability. “Hey, I’m inside the sun and I don’t think they can follow me here. But... Well I can’t stay here forever. Can you get this resolved any faster?”
“Easier said than done.” Alvion swore under his breath as he tried and failed once again to remove all kinetic energy from the behemoth. His usual trick for stopping physical attacks proved useless against this Eldritch abomination of ancient magic.Charging a revolver he focused right at the center point of the creature’s armor.
“Alvion, you’re going to destroy the whole courtyard!” Chrystaline was frantic, however Alvion ignored her. Pulling the trigger, the massive amount of energy was released at once straight for the Gatekeeper. It got within a foot of it’s breastplate and vanished without a trace.
“Well then...” Alvion muttered under his breath. “I hate magic. Any other ideas?”
Across the city, students and other of the less powerful beings present began to fall unconscious. The dark fog was affecting them. In buildings and on the street, people would sit down from feeling weary and simply fall asleep.
Erebus turned his glare to Mekura.
“Confident are we? Certainly you may be technically more powerful than me at the moment, however there are many ways of defeating a foe. Some of them require very little effort.” Focusing his full attention, Erebus exerted his will on her mind. He forced her to experience something that she would have long since forgotten. Sight.
The images he drew in her mind were a cleverly twisted take on what she would actually be seeing. The academy city before her was burning and in ruins. The bloodied and charred bodies of students lined the streets and in the distance, some dark creature that was several stories tall continued it’s wild rampage. Immediately around her, the gatekeeper was busy collecting the skulls of her fallen comrades, and their souls were impaled onto an ethereal stake in the ground.
“Should you continue to resist, this is the inevitable reality you face. One can never truly defeat death; there are no such thing as immortals. Death can only be delayed, no matter how earnestly, but futilely you try.”
Giovanni stood up from his position on the ground. He was against fighting students who were possibly more powerful than himself as he didn’t want to look ‘uncool’ if he lost. Mikura claimed she would handle Erebus, which left Alvion and himself with handling the Gatekeeper and since the young man seemed distraught with his battle, Giovanni would try his hand. “Excuse me, Gatekeeper.” Giovanni said as he walked up passively to its hulking armor from the back. He extended his hand to tap on the creatures massive back.
The Gatekeeper thrashed around with a mighty swing of its massive axe. Giovanni threw his hands up and quickly began to repeat “Stop stop stop!” The Gatekeeper pulled back on his axe inches before the old man’s neck. With a sigh of relief Giovanni lowered his hands. “Ok. I was just wondering-YOWL!”
With a snap of his hips Giovanni launched a one inch punch into the Gatekeeper sending him stumbling back a few feet. He began to bounce around of his toes with his hands up, ready to box. The Gatekeeper stood up and locked faces with the tricky man. He dropped his axe on the ground with a heavy thud and stood up with his fist clenched in front of his face.
((I have an image of Bruce Lee fighting... anyone really))
The two circled around each other feeling out the distance of attack before becoming still. Then in a flash Giovanni punched out a the Gatekeeper’s helm and struck with a loud ding. The Gatekeeper stumbled back for a moment, before stepping back up to his enemy. Giovanni then tried for another punch, but the Gatekeeper had become wise to his tricks and shifted his weight to the left while throwing his fist into Giovanni’s face.
((I have an image of a water bender fighting a fire bender))
The pulse master stumbled back a few feet before regaining his bearings, then once stable the true battle began. Giovanni began to punch blast of pulse which were all counted by the Gatekeeper’s affinity of anti-pulse. The fight was like fire and water as flashes of light and dark began to collide. Giovanni excited the vibrations of the air while the Gatekeeper suppressed them.
With each movement the tattoos on Giovanni’s body began to glow a little brighter as they expanded down his left arm, slowly. He slowly worked his way into the Gatekeepers personal space until the two merely stood inches apart in a fighting stance with no physical movement. The space between them however was alight with flashes and torrents of wind. Giovanni slowly pushed his hand forward until it was at the Gatekeeper’s helm and with a mighty grunt he flicked the Gatekeeper’s forehead. All the gust and torrents stopped and the two stood there motionless and silent. “Alvion... I would take a step back”
As Giovanni finished speaking he was flung backwards and into one of the school buildings. It took him a few moments to reappear from the rubble, rubbing his head. “Cheating anti-Pulse user!” he cried as he stepped in front of the Gatekeeper again. “Trying to stop my body... Almost got away with it too!” With the end of his shout the battle was back on, two users of opposite affinities standing before each other with energy surging around them doing all the fighting. A slight glint of at stake pride shining in Giovanni’s eyes as he pressed forward, trying to overpower the .Gatekeeper.
[ok, I’m done]
Mekura listened to him and blinked. Yes she was confident but her confidence wasn't without hope. Knowing his full attention was on her, prepared herself for a battle but instead was greeted with....
sight. Blinking she rubbed her eyes as she realized she could see. Not through a camera but through her own two eyes. It lasted but a second as the vision around her caused her to still. Staring at the scene before her, Mekura watched at the thing rampaged killing and collecting skulls.
Her senses reeled out of control as her mind fought against the images she saw now. It was only an illusion caused by a distraught child. Tears welled into her eyes as he spoke about death. Slowly one tear rolled down her cheek as she looked up at the sky.
"Of course its inevitable. Everyone dies at some point. If fact I should have died a long time ago." Her voice got quiet as she spoke. Staring at the surrounding again she wished it had been something nicer since this was probably the first and last time she would see with her own two eyes. Closing her eyes her pulled her other senses back together one by one and the vision and sounds around her threatened her sanity. It was an illusion nothing more. Slowly she pulled herself back together.
"So you master plan was so send me into chaos through giving me an illusion about death? Well no one has to die today. Of course I'm sure Bridgit would like to see someone die. So are you done with your temper tantrum or are you needing to lash out some more? You mother would probably be very sad to see you in such a state."Stein watched the two large gatekeepers emerge from the ethereal gates, on of them had a peculiar fog pouring from a gourd on his belt that was rapidly expanding
“Damu, can you tell what that is? Go find out.” Stein said handing Damu a little vial and sent him towards the fog, he had barely emerged from their hiding spot before he hit the fog
“I’m tired, I’m just going to take a nap.” Damu said lying down where he was and falling asleep
Interesting an anesthetic of some sort, probably magic in origin. I think I can turn off those receptors rendering that gas useless Stein twisted the screw several times and clicked it into place. she carefully inhaled the gas as it drifted towards her, it had no effect
I’m going to want a sample of this She thought as she pulled out another vial, allowed the gas to seep into it, and capped it with a stopper.
there, perfect for preliminary tests . Let’s see how the rest of this plays out Stein flipped to a new page in her notebook and continued writing, she was particularly watching the fight between Mekura and Erebus. Stein heard him say something about sight.
He’s using more illusions, but this time only on her. Stein also heard him say something about ‘one can never defeat death, only delay it’
Maybe I can’t stop death, but I can delay it indefinitely, creating the illusion of life is easy, what is life but a way to keep meat from rotting Mekura apparently broke the mental illusion quickly Stein added more to her Mekura pages quickly
Quick wit, very strong mental abilities. can’t see?...maybe.At that moment Giovanni crashed into the wall about 20 feet from where Stein was sitting drawing her attention to what was occurring there. The two opposing forces stood facing each other, allowing only their energies to fight, Stein couldn’t see the energies, but both groups were concentrating very hard, and the grass between them looked as if it’d been rolled over with a steamroller. (done)
Roy settled into a floating lotus position and began to meditate. He could sense the hounds and the Hunter still waiting for him outside the star, but back in Savale... There was so much energy that he couldn’t figure out the condition from where he was. “Alvion, what’s going on down there?”
-----------
“My mother,” Erebus paused as the slightest hint of sadness could be seen in his eyes. “Would be immeasurably proud of me. Proud that I’m taking matters into my own hands, and forging my own path.” Glancing to his right, an ethereal wolf appeared and seemed to relay some information to him. “Shit, I can do nothing about that whilst bound.” Pausing, his gaze moved to the gatekeeper. “Luckily I don’t have to.
Keeper! Tartarus calls! Shroud the sun!The Gatekeeper abandoned his pointless fight and stomped back to his axe. Lifting it easily with one arm, he pointed it straight for the sun. Placing the bloody horn to his lips, he blew and an unearthly sound shook the ground. It was as if the entire area was desaturated, the color slowly draining from it leaving greys behind. Overhead, the sun to began to slowly dim, as if someone had hit it’s pause button. Beneath the Gatekeeper a demonic seal had formed.
Alvion stared in disbelief.
“Roy, I think he’s wise to your trick. I advise you prepare to run.” Chrystaline was in a meditative state as she studied the magics around them.
“Alvion, Giovanni, Mekura, I believe this is the energy of Tartarus. In short, the antithesis to life. The Gatekeeper has cracked open the barrier that separates the two realms effectively freezing the sun until the gate has been closed.” Alvion drew his sword, nodding to Benjamin who did the same.
“Meaning we have to get rid of the door jam.” Rushing forward Alvion aimed the point of his blade for the seam where the Gatekeeper’s body armor met his helm. Suddenly his blade was deflected to the side as he felt a sharp blow to his chest. Benjamin too stumbled back sharply, catching himself with his left hand mid flip. In front of the Gatekeeper, Erebus was regaining his footing from the intricate maneuver he had just pulled off: deflecting Alvion’s strike with the chains on his right arm and striking him with a palm thrust, as he deflected Benjamin’s sword with the chain’s on his leg, using the rotational momentum to plan his other leg firmly into the master swordsman’s neck. Erebus dropped into a low stance and closed his eyes. To the sharp eye it would appear that the surrounding area darkened by a fraction. Alvion huffed to himself.
“Actually going to fight yourself now? Good, I prefer it this way.” Alvion sent a miniscule static discharge to Mekura to signal her as he and Benjamin readed their blades for another strike.
*Meanwhile at the sun*
As the dark energy passed through the sun, the energized atoms within began to slow in their vibrations as the universe’s pause button was effectively pressed. Around it, the ethereal wolves chomped and frothed as they pressed in against the retracting heat. It wouldn’t be long until Roy was completely caged in with the receding circumference of the star’s plasma.
------------
Mekura listened and blinked as she heard the 'would be'. So she was dead and he probably hadn't shed a tear. He was very stoic and struck her as one who didn't like to show weakness. Suddenly she felt the warmth in the air ever so slightly start to decrease. Looking up on impulse she heard Chrystaline. Staying where she was she let Alvion and Ben take care of it. Moments later though Erebus used his chains to deflect their attacks. He was quick.
Tapping her storage device she pulled out her sound guns but without the bullets. She didn't want to hurt anyone really bit they could still do some interesting damage to peoples ear drums. Shoving them into her boots she looked toward Erebus and walked forward. Stopping a few feet from him she listened to his heart beat. "So you're making your mom proud by carving your own path. If you're carving your own path how are you going to do it? "
Blair who had ran and gotten her own weapons from her room stuck around the large Gate keeper and noted that it was basically shutting off the sun. That wasn't good. Pulling out six daggers she threw them at the giant followed by two more with lasers and wires attached.
-------------
Roy’s head thrashed back and forth as he tried to figure out what to do. It wouldn’t do any good to fly to another star, but he couldn’t let the light of the sun go out either. Roy sighed and floated into a standing position. He would have to run somewhere else.
“It comes to this then.” Giovanni muttered as he looked up at the darkening sun. He tried to resist the power of Tartarus with his pulse but he was tired from the bout with the Gatekeeper as it was. “Roy!” He shouted at the top of his lungs. “Re-create the sun!” Giovanni’s voice reached Roy’s ears, or mind, he couldn’t tell at that point. Mentally responding Roy rebuked. “Re-create the sun? I can’t do that! Especially while keeping this boy safe! You’re crazy old man!” Giovanni sighed and locked eyes with Roy. “Leave him to me.”
Giovanni began spinning his hands in a circle in front of his stomach as a magical seal appeared beneath his feet, and another on the backs of his hands. Slowly a 3-Dimensional seal formed between his hands. Once it was the size of a baseball Giovanni tossed it at the boy. It reached in less than a second and the boy disintegrated into the sphere which then returned to Giovanni and burned into his arm.
Without the boy there, Roy began exerting plasma from his body, pressing back against the anti-life that was trying to freeze the sun, but he was only able the slow the effects of the powerful magic. Not long after, the sun had gone dark, Roy curled into a ball, charging the last of his energy, holding the last bit of plasma that was the sun. With a deep breath he made it grow slightly. Then with another it grew more. With his third breath he enlarged it 1000 times, making the ball of plasma the Earth. It was a small sun, but it would have to do.
Giovanni fell to the ground panting, his eyes locking with Erebus who would soon realize that spell he used. “It’s over Erebus, the only way to kill him now is to kill me, and you can’t kill me because I let you sleep in class.”
Giovanni sent a mental message to Alvion and the others. “Using Pulse, I’ve transformed the boy into magical ink, he is now residing at the end of the tattoos on my left arm. This magic is difficult to perform, so please, let’s end this quickly. Alvion you know if it come to Erebus killing me, you will have to train someone to care for the others. If it comes to that, Horo has the skill.”
((John, I sent you a message explaining the final paragraph. It’s a secret ))
---
Erebus’s gaze darkened a shade as his voice resounded through their minds.
Good to know Giovanni. Don’t be a fool, there’s no need to throw your life away and no need for me to kill you. I simply need to shatter the magic around your tattoo. Erebus noticed Blair throw her weapons and pulled his katana with it’s sheath from his obi, holding it in front of himself. Benjamin visibly tensed as his breath stilled.
“Form of the Moonless Sky.” There was an instantaneous flash as all of Blair’s daggers were cut in half at once, followed by a metallic clink as Erebus finished sliding his Katana back into it’s sheath.. “Demon’s Empty Flash.”
There was a surge of warm and comforting magic as Benjamin summoned his sacred bow staff. Walking slowly to stand in front of Giovanni, he planted the staff firmly on the ground in front of himself, his eyes never leaving Erebus.
“Giovanni, old friend, Form of the Moonless Sky is swordsmanship magic. It’s specialty is cutting through other magic, no matter how strong it may be. I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to stay behind me for now. Alvion, that black katana is not a blade you can stand up against; not without trying to kill our young dark friend here. Leave this to me and the little lady.” Benjamin winked to Mekura as he mentioned her
Grabbing the bow staff in his right hand, he spun it around deftly and planted one end beneath his arm as he let it stretch out before him. Sliding into a very low stance, he extended his left arm out behind him.
“Titan Stance: Immovable Earth.”
(We shall do big fight when you’re here Rikka.)
Blair blinked as her weapons were instantly cut in half just from a few words from the boy. Great. Pouncing she shifted on the fly at the great guardian of the underworld. Her form took on that of a large black panther as she attempted to sink her teeth into its shoulder and her claws into its sides.
Mekura moved to Bens side as Giovanni seemed to seal the boy into his arm by way of his tattoos. Switching out her daggers for her sword in her storage device. As he winked at her she rolled her eyes especially at his comment about her being a 'little lady'. She had long gotten over him using little substitutions for her name.
Giving her sword a twirl in her hand she adjusted herself to the weight of it rather than the weight of her daggers which she liked better. Slicing her sword through the air in half moon arc she placed her feet apart gripped her sword with both hands. Keeping her balance equal between her feet she waited for Erebus to strike first. "I honestly don't see the reason for fighting. He’s just a child throwing a temper tantrum because his prey got away."
-------
Erebus snapped his fingers and the illusion took hold if Blair’s mind in an instant. She was surrounded by mirrors on all sides; her own reflection repeated endlessly in the glass. There was an unknown source of illumination that flashed on and off, adding to the disorientating effect. Her balance would be rendered null in moments if her eyes were left open. This was a complex offensive illusion, disregarding the usual subtleties of illusory craft meant to trick the target into believing what they sensed was reality. It would be difficult to break without concentration and focus.
“A child perhaps, however you could not be more wrong concerning the source of my ire. If you foolish adults feel inclined to allow this school to crumble around you, that’s fine by me; however I will accomplish my duty. That boy will die.”
Erebus drew the pitch black blade from it’s sheath in a slow, graceful arc, stopping at a 45 degree angle to his right. Benjamin spun in front of Mekura in an instant reaching back his hand for her to grab onto.
“Crescent of the Waning Moon.” Erebus’s sword moved imperceptibly, as Benjamin swung his bowstaff, predicting the angle of the attack. The golden weapon collided with thin air as a massive shockwave tore the stone beneath their feet asunder. “Ripple on the Water.” Benjamin lost no momentum as he continued his spin, intending to throw Mekura straight at him.
Blair flicked her tail as the brat tossed her into an illusion. Looking around at the Mirrors she blinked as she started to wobble and had to sit to keep her balance. Closing her eyes she felt a bit better and decided it must be the lights. Not happy about her predicament she shifted back to her normal human form and conjured clothes onto her body. Keeping her eyes clothes she slammed her magic against the Mirrors as she attempted to shatter the illusion.
Mekura heard Blair quit fighting and decided he must have put a rather strong illusion on the cat girl. Growing tired of his temper tantrum she rolled her eyes at the last line. "Obviously you still not thinking straight." Shaking her head she felt Benjamin move and grasped his hand. Relaxing as she thought about her next move for a few moments. Violence was really getting them nowhere! Closing her eyes as she felt the tug on her hand as Ben got ready to throw her, she decided what she was gonna do. As she was tossed Mekura readied her sword and stopped herself in a slide in front of him her sword coming up to protect her, encase of an attack, before attempting to pop his sword out of his grasp. Rushing forward she looked as if she was going to attack but instead pulled him into a hug, ready for the bite of blade. This was a good way to get herself killed but she was tired of violence it was why she had become a teacher.
As Mekura closed in, Erebus spun clockwise, thwarting her attempt to knock aways his sword, and resheathing it in the process, and readying himself for another quick draw technique. He didn’t know what her blade was made out of, but there was very little the Form of the Moonless Sky technique couldn’t cut through. Turning full circle, Erebus prepared his strike, but hesitated. Her guard was weak, uncertain. If he struck now he would cut her in half along with the blade. Suddenly realizing what her goal was, he inhaled sharply as her body connected with his, hand still on the hilt of his blade as he was pulled into the hug. For a short time there was silence.
“What a foolish woman you are. You have a responsibility to protect and guide the students of this academy. Performing such a reckless maneuver is the same as throwing away your life.” Benjamin smiled warmly, but maintained his ready stance for further confrontation.
“You may be a genius and a prodigy Erebus, but in some things you’re very slow on the uptake. You’re also a student at this academy now. Our responsibility to protect and guide extends to you as well.”
“That responsibility extends to punishment and discipline as well Erebus.” Alvion added in his usual stoic tone. “After this madness is finished, you and I are going to get to know each other better.”
“That will have to wait Alvion.” There was a flash of brilliant light as the headmaster and a small girl with long red pigtails stepped out of a complex arcane circle. The headmaster took a moment to take in the scene before he chuckled and walked with purpose towards Erebus and Mekura. “Really everyone, did you read the briefing I sent to you all on him all the way through. He certainly has the ability to do something like this,” The master reached out and grabbed hold of the Gate Keeper’s armor. In one swift motion, he tore the creature in half, and with it, the massive and powerful illusion fell away like a sheet before their eyes. “However he does not have that kind of power while those chains are still on him.” Benjamin whistled in disbelief as he watched the setting of their city return to normal as the devastation they had witnessed evaporated. Alvion’s mouth dropped open a fraction before he corrected himself, and Chrystaline was beside herself with disbelief.
“That’s impossible! I saw the magic! I saw the circles! He performed the rituals to summon them! He put out the sun!” The headmaster chuckled once again.
“Young Erebus is a master of the illusionary arts, the likes of which you have never even dreamed of before Chrystal. It’s dangerous to believe anything he shows you when he stands before you as an enemy.” Alvion wasn’t satisfied.
“I attacked that thing; Giovanni too. It was solid.” There was a slight twinkle in the Master’s eyes.
“And is touch not a sense as well? Can it not be fooled by a powerful illusion the same as sight or hearing.” The master turned and smiled to Erebus as he gave Mekura an approving nod, signaling her to step away. “It seems you have taught my faculty a valuable lesson today on dealing with illusion masters Erebus. I’m in your debt.” Erebus closed his eyes with a snort as he stood up straight, out of his combat stance. The headmaster glanced to Giovanni before continuing. “Now, if I understand the situation correctly, you were attempting to kill,” there was a slight pause as the Master gestured and the student from before appeared unconscious in his arms; Giovanni’s respective tattoo vanishing. “this young man here for his transgression, correct? I must thank you for your hard work, however there is a more pressing matter that requires your attention. Please leave the disciplining of this boy to us.” Erebus eyed the headmaster warily.
“A more pressing matter?” He questioned as the small red head skipped over to him enthusiastically, presenting to him a sealed envelope. Erebus snatched it from her and tore it open, scanning over it quickly. His face darkened immediately. The master continued.
“Yes, while I’m unsure whether or not it is connected to this most recent incident; regardless, it is a matter which requires the full attention of the head of the Melanthios family.” A scoreboard appeared over the head of the strange girl.
“Haha! One plot point for Katarina! Take that Calthion, you meanie!” For a split second, there may of been the slightest traces of impending doom.
“I see.” Erebus responded darkly. The letter ignited with black flames and vanished entirely, not even leaving ashes behind. “I must depart immediately.” He made a sweeping glance at the teachers before he began to sink into the shadows beneath him. “I trust my absences will be excused.” With that final statement, he vanished into the ground without a trace.
Mekura felt him dodge her attempt to rid him of his sword and sheathed it. He was probably gonna try one of his other moves. But he had hesitated right before she had pulled him into a hug. When she didn't feel the bite of a blade, Mekura hugged him a bit tighter before Erebus tried to lecture her on her recklessness. Chuckling she just held him like a mother might a child. "I've lived long enough that I can be a bit reckless sometimes. Plus some children just want to be held when throwing a temper tantrum." As she finished Alvion spoke up then after him....master Eleazar. Stepping away from Erebus she ruffled his hair a bit with one hand then turned to look in the direction of where the voices were coming from. When the master signaled her to step away she stepped away respectively joining the other teachers.
Mekura listened to the headmaster speak and wondered where Erebus was off to. As she felt Erebus's eyes scan over the teachers she nodded her head. Of course he would be excused. When he had vanished she felt the teachers just stand there. "Well. That was enough excitement for one day. Let all head back to our classes or whatever the rest of us were doing." Moving Blair she helped the cat lady to stand and helped her figure her senses out while she reigned in her own senses before her body registered that the danger had passed. Grabbing her sword where she had dropped in her attempt of stopping Erebus with a hug she replaced it in her storage device then gather up Blair's weapons and helped her back to her room to rest before her next class.
Stein closed her notebook as the fighting stopped and the teachers started walking back towards their posts. “That was an interesting set of observations, lots of new data to analyze. Come on Damu, lets head back towards the school.” Damu had started moving around in Stein’s pocket now that the gas had worn off and was asking what smelled like blood. Stein chuckled “You missed a sizable fight, but it shouldn’t smell like blood no one was bleeding. Stein stopped and looked at the base of the tree where there was a girl in a pink dress and white heels sleeping ”She must have been affected by the gas...she should be waking up soon given her size and the strength of the gas.” I wonder what species she is...she’s humanoid, but she’s giving off a different hormone balance than humans do.
Giovanni stood up with wide eyes. "Well, I will say that was one powerful illusion! I'll have to work with Erebus and get myself acquainted with them. Giovanni was about to leave when he turned back and created a cane of pulse energy that appeared as wood. "Eleazar! You still haven't made your move in our game of Go, I'll be expecting it by the end of the day. You've had a year to think about it." Giovanni walked away with his cane, his thoughts drifting to the Go board they had set up. Only two additional peices had been placed since the start of the game over 2 years before.
Roy returned from the sun, bouncing around. "I'M SUPER CHARGED! I'VE BEEN IN THE SUN FOR SO LONG AND I HAVE SO MUCH ENERGY THAT I THINK I'M GOING TO GO FOR A FLY AROUND THE WORLD!" withing a second Roy returned. "THAT WAS TOO SHORT! AROUND THE UNIVERSE!?" Roy shot off and flew at the speed of light to the neighboring planet before returning with an alien life form. "I FOUND A PUPPY!!!!!" he exclaimed as he handed Alvion a green down that resembled Shrek." I SHOULD GET BACK TO WORK! WORK WORK WORK! I'LL PLAY FOR THE STUDENTS!" Roy returned to his class and began playing several instruments at the same time, running between them so fast that the sounds occurred at the same time.
Five minutes later he crashed from his plasma high and his face slammed into the keys on the piano while all the other instruments he had been playing fell to the ground. "Class is... dismissed"
